"The Black Gold Motel is outstanding! It is clean, well-maintained, the staff are excellent, the service is great! And the best part is the on-site restaurant and bar. I thought it would be just pub food, but oh no, they have taken what could have been pub food and brought it up to a whole new level. The chilli prawn linguini, the calamari with spicy mustard cream, fresh mushroom soup, all magnificent! And the service is outstanding, well done to all their staff! This has to be one of the best...

"The house itself was brilliant. You can feel the "oldness" in the air but i was surprised when i found out there was only the one staff member for the whole house. That's three floors with eleven rooms being attended to by one person and she was a pack packer who had been in the role for four weeks and is also receptionist and cleaner. But as i said, the house was lovely as was the area"

"Stunning view. Great service. Comfortable bed. Great bathroom with a spa (we stayed in "The Loft Suite"). Walking distance to some great walks. Great little outdoor deck. Excellent family entertainment facilities downstairs in the universal guest area; e.g. fireplace, DVDs (for viewing in your room), games, binoculars for the view daytime and nighttime (ie star gazing). Also there was a Bose Bluetooth speaker in our room and Foxtel. Can't really think of anything that was missing."

"Great property, facilities and supplies were very good. Our main issue was the bunk beds do not have much head height on the lower bunk, and we could not use the top bunks for the kids as the safety rails only just reached the top of the mattress and they would fall out if rolled in the night. Otherwise very happy with the cabin and hosts."
