"Its impossible not to state - the location is very poor unless you have transport. Breakfast is very very poor, limited choice and and a really dark somber environment. The hotel itself is a remarkable building beautifully presented. The sitting areas and gardens are really lovely. The swimming pool area is excellent. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, unfortunately with the exception of the woman at breakfast who was unmotivated and distinctly uninterested in her work. Finally it was lively to see swallows roosting on the lights at one of the terraces."

"Our stay was overall really great. The pool was lovely, there is a sauna but I didn’t get to use it. The breakfast had a nice selection and almost all of the staff were amazing and helpful. A special shout out to the lady that manages breakfast as she seems to remember everyone and makes an extra effort with all guests! The biggest detriment was the night manager on Sunday the 19th. I came downstairs and there was no one at reception so I wandered over to the restaurant to borrow a fork. I didn’t take it off any table that was already prepared but went to the cutlery pile. On the way back I saw the manager at reception and asked if it was ok that I borrowed the fork to show I wasn’t hiding anything or stealing anything and he was patronising and rude over a fork. Other staff members witnessed his attitude and apologised to me after but there no wonder he is a night manager. It might be better if he wasn’t affiliated with the hotel at all as it left a bitter taste in my mouth."

"Very pleasant. Room was a ‘classic’ which is small, no balcony, and view of back of building. Construction underway and there was an unanticipated shut off of the water supply for a time one day. Other than that nice."
