"One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed - hotel is an old palace and the whole place is so unique. Only thing was it was a bit challenging to find the ‘front desk’ to check in (not the typical counter you expect to see at a hotel) so took us a little bit to check in etc but was such a lovely place to stay"

Learn more about Castelluccio

Perched dramatically above Piano Grande's wildflower-filled plateau, this tiny mountain village offers spectacular views and traditional Umbrian cuisine. Hike through nearby Monti Sibillini National Park trails or time your visit for the summer lentil bloom when fields transform into a colourful patchwork.

The drive to Castelluccio is itself famed and remarkable, but a visit to the small town at the end of the journey is a must (don't just turn around!)

It's a maze of twisty roads uphill, but taking the time to walk them means many hidden viewpoints to be discovered. It's quiet, very few tourists make it this far, and might even be worth a stay for a couple of days.
