"I stayed at Rio Royal Palace Hotel for 5 nights during my trip to Rio. The price was reasonable considering I booked only a week in advance. Although check-in officially started at 2pm, after arriving early from an overnight bus from São Paulo I was offered early check-in with breakfast access at 9am for R$300 (£45). Expensive for a few extra hours, but appreciated after a long journey.

"Check in is a total mess, you will never get your room early as their policy is essentially for you to only get your room at 3pm. Of course this is a pointless possibly and their staff don’t really handle it in an honest way, as they tell you the room will be yours once available, but for everyone that will be at 3pm or worse.
