Now it has turned into a Spa Resort, great for those who like and want to be pampered, no problems there, but we did find the restaurants evening menu is now very restricted for choice., plus there was always cold blasts of air, making it very uncomfortable to dine. Back in the day the then Ostler restaurant was far superior"

"We stayed for 2 nights, the hotel looks very nice from the outside & the foyer is well maintained. The room was fit for purpose, there is no room service while we stayed & if towels or extra coffee are needed then reception needs to be contacted. The bed was king size, but it was 2 beds pushed together, but was comfortable for staying there. The parking is extra, £5 per 24 hours, & the car park is big, so we had no issues with parking, although if an event was on, it may fill up quickly. The hotel is also close to the railway station & the town centre is easy to walk to."

"Lovely lady receptionist upgraded us to a superior double which was spacious with a large bed and great view of the church opposite, Ben, the duty manager was very efficient with the breakfasts. He got me extra tea as requested and did a lovely takeaway bag of sausage and bacon sandwich so my husband could eat later. Great staff, stylish rustic hotel. A perfect stay!"
