"Very comfortable bed, clean room
We stayed for 2 nights. At check-in, we did not notice the sign in reception that you need to ask for a room refresh (before noon)
We needed clean cups, glasses, tbags, but we asked in the pub on the second day and all were provided.
The only downside is there isn’t really anywhere in the bathroom to dry towel on a two night stay, so maybe best to ask for refresh

"Check in was quick and easy , room spacious well equipped and clean , after hours access was straightforward and parking ample
All staff were cheerful , helpful and attentive.The breakfast was one of the most pleasant I have had in a long time - quality ingredients , well presented and served while piping hot

"Enjoyed our stay in a garden room. Although the gardens aren’t totally finished it’s nice to see the progress being made and on a sunny day it’s nice to have direct access. Fantastic meal in the kitchen restaurant. We had dined in prevost on previous occasions but the standard of dishes in the other restaurant was great. Friendly reception when we arrived. Breakfast is fantastic. If you are looking for a night or two to relax in a pretty and period setting then this hotel is recommended."

"Only stayed one night so didn’t use all the spa facilities which looked nice.
Our room was a very long walk from the reception, this was difficult to manage with my son who is autistic and has disabilities. If I stayed again I would specify that we needed to be nearer reception.
Room was ok, but small fridge in room was very noisy and had to turn it off (it was unplugged when we entered room) and the air con unit in the corner of room also made a lot of noise as the evening went on and my son...

"We had a fantastic stay at The Barnsdale, such a beautiful, relaxing and picturesque venue. We enjoyed use of the spa, which is beautifully done, small and intimate. Evening meal in the Brasserie was delicious with fabulous service and breakfast was just as delicious, with lots of choice and was well organised.
All staff were very polite and helpful, especially the lovely lady on reception. The welcome glass of wine on arrival was such a lovely touch.

"A delightful period residence with a beautiful courtyard. My husband said the breakfast was the best he has ever had.
The town itself is a chocolate box delight and the hotel matched it perfectly.

"We arrived early and decided to try the dining facilities. We were pleasantly surprised at the options and pricing. When the courses arrived the standard was excellent.
The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with ensuite facilities, coffee machine with small fridge and milk as well as bottled water.
The bed was very comfy.
Breakfast had many options. From toast, cereals, croissants, Danish-style pastries to the obligatory full English. Which again was fantastic.
