"This hotel really did represent value for money on a weekend where the city was busy due to a famous comedian performing. The hotel is central and only a five minute walk from the train station. Staff helpful, communal spaces lovely for a drink in the evening. Room was roomy shower powerful with lovely toiletries provided - only one bath towel provided for 2 of us but that will have been an oversight and guess what we coped. The breakfast was ok I had to ask for more bread which then was...

"Had a lovely stay, very clean. Great amenities/swimming pool/spa. Comfy bed. Quiet surroundings but near to town for pubs/restaurant. Perfect for a night or 2 away. Will be back for sure"

"I love this hotel, I visit at least twice a year. Its large, but comfortable and perfectly situated for both the town of Buxton and the wider peak district. The staff are mainly young, but helpful and hardworking ....they could do with a few more sometimes, they can be very busy, especially in the bar.
I like that is so close to the opera house and all the lovely little restaurants, plenty of shops too.
The breakfasts are worth having, i havent had dinner there as there is so much choice of...

"The hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of an update.
The room was fine...no safe, furniture a bit tatty and some black mould around the bath/shower.
Only 1 dressing robe and slippers in the room, although booked as a couple.
Room service was a bit random. The sandwiche that arrived was not great, with a tired piece of lettuce, 2 small tomatoes and some tortilla chips.
Breakfast was again fine but nothing to write home about. The hot food had the air of being put out for the opening...

"Everything was good
We had a 3 night stay we enjoyed the stay the only thing was the cleaner never came in the room the whole time we stayed so we had to ask for extra coffee milk we thought we would also get clean towels
Everything else was excellent"
