"Throughout the night, I was kept awake by the noise from the pub outside. It is clear that the walls and windows of the hotel provide zero sound insulation; it felt as though the music and screaming were happening directly inside my room. When I initially called the reception, I was assured that the noise would stop. When it didnt I went downstairs to speak to the staff.The response from the staff who called himself Abdul, was disgraceful. To be met with such utter disrespect and a total refusal to help when I was clearly distressed is shocking for a so called 4-star establishment. I am not even sure how the hotel in this condition can be a 4 star!! The condition of the room I was given is shambles. While the hotel is marketed on its "character," the room I stayed in was a total ruin that has clearly not been updated in years. The shower did not even work and had been patched together with tape. Charging £100 for a room in this state is a total scam. Because of the noise and the dismissive attitude of your staff, I did not sleep at all."
