"Quick check in Threadbare carpet in room and beside a very noisy main road so very noisy not much sleep even with ear plugs. Bed and pillows comfy We stayed for 2 nights and key card ran out after 1st day staff never mentioned this so got up to room and couldn't get in room had to go back down to reception this could of been avoided. Room ok but no sleep due to main road noises so wouldn't stay again "

"I wasnt a fan of the overuse of air freshner in the room. It was overpowering. Generally, the room was looking a bit tired. The staff were very nice and worked hard to make the stay pleasant. Dinner was good."

"The staff here are very polite and professional. The rooms look a bit tired and the bath plug has not even got a chain??? It's the second time on a visit that we have mentioned this issue. The meter on top of the heater keeps showing that the windows were open but of course they were not. The TV in the room was very difficult to turn off and when searching for a programme the tv jumped 2 channels at a time. That is basic stuff that should be regularly checked. Because there were so many of these silly issues we didn't complain because the staff were all working at pace across the tables and the bar. Why is there only 1 bedside table??????? Our only complaint at breakfast was that for some odd reason you have stopped using teapots and in it's place you provide tiny cups, that in our opinion is poorly thought out. You should either bring back teapots or at least offer mugs. I'd question why you don't provide saucers with your cups, it's good etiquette."

"Check-in was efficient and straightforward, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the remainder of our stay did not meet expectations. The room was very dark and poorly lit, making it feel uninviting. Paintwork on doors and woodwork had numerous large chips, giving a tired impression. The window overlooked the back of another part of the hotel, so there was no outlook at all. Housekeeping standards were concerning: we found a glasses case beside the bed from a previous guest, and the glasses provided for canned water were dirty. Dinner was disappointing. The restaurant was so cold we had to return to our room to get jackets. The food was average and felt overpriced for the quality. Service came across as brusque rather than welcoming. Overnight, the room was very noisy due to a loud water/sewage system which disrupted sleep. Breakfast was equally underwhelming. The cooked breakfast was not hot, and toast was only offered after my husband had finished his meal — which itself had arrived cold. We waited over 20 minutes for tea and coffee despite asking three times. When it arrived, the cafetière was broken and there was no milk. After another 10 minutes without coffee, we left. Checkout was purely transactional, with no enquiry about our stay. Overall, standards of cleanliness, comfort, food and service fell short, particularly for the price."
