"The gentleman that checked us in was pleasant and gave us our room in an appropriate time. The other staff after him were not friendly and welcoming. The room had a terrible smell which was surprising as walking into the lobby smelled amazing. The bathroom smelled so bad we literally could not breathe in there or use it. We told staff and they said they would send someone to check. It smelled slightly better upon our return but it was still bad. The room itself did not appeared well cleaned as it had lots of dirt stains. The bathroom was gross and we barely wanted to use it. It felt like we were placed in one of the worst unkept room as we were only there for a night. I was very dissatisfied with the hotel as it did not look anything like the pictures that I saw online. The lobby area was well kept but the room was very bad. We were also told that we could have the snacks and stuff in the room for free but was later charged for it. It was nice of them to keep our bags until it was time to go to the airport and providing the free shuttle. The distance to the airport was great. The overall location of the hotel was very far from the city and I did not enjoy that at all."

"We enjoyed our stay at Avani very much. The hotel is a 5-star property and a very good value. The staff was wonderful and the proximity to the On Nut BTS station, the mall, and the large new Lotus was ideal for celebrating Songkran. The pool closed very early, at 8pm, which was slightly disappointing."

"The desk clerk sent us to a room which was already occupied. It was 1am and we were escorted by a security guy. When my card key failed HE opened the door with his master card key and quickly realized there was someone sleeping in the room! There was another guest with us who was checking into a different room on the same floor and his assigned room was also already occupied! The security guy closed the door and called front desk and got us both different room assignments. The second room was empty and we were able to get a new card key in the morning. The whole thing took like 10-15 minutes and was very disturbing. The front desk crew was obviously very confused about which rooms were already occupied."
