"Wonderful place to stay. The terrace is delightful at any time of day. To be honest, I didn't want to leave the hotel for any reason except to hike. The service was amazing and there are many excellent dining options. Highly recommend!!"

"A firm favourite of ours where we’ve stayed 3 times now. Gorgeous hotel, extremely comfortable. Extremely central. Huge pool with plenty of sunloungers (be prepared for expensive day beds and Bali beds). Service at pool and restaurants is friendly if not always efficient. Front desk staff should learn to pretend to be happy for you to be here and change their snooty attitude though. "

"We loved our stay at the Barcelo. The room was very clean. The king sized bed was very comfortable as was the sofa bed which our daughter slept on. There was plenty of room in our room which was the standard basic room for 3 people. We loved the shower as well. The breakfasts were amazing and we really liked how the hotel opened up onto the main street where you could dine. The rooftop had amazing views and the decor and service was fantastic. "The Vine was an excellent hotel in a great location. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would particularly highlight Hermes, Carmo, Bernardo and Jorges in the bar, the restaurant and at breakfast. It was a shame that my room upgrade was not available but the room we had was still nice. The Vine is easy walking distance to the harbour, the old town and multiple restaurants. The rooftop pool, bar and restaurant are also a fantastic place to spend time. "

"We enjoyed our stay, the food and drinks were very good, room was comfortable and cleaned daily. Service in all of the restaurants was excellent and all the staff very polite. The outside area needs more attention especially the club balcony, it was never cleaned the eleven nights that we were there. "

"Outstanding boutique hotel with superb gardens and swimming pool. Hotel is located in the suburbs of Funchal with free parking. Staff were extremely helpful. Room was spacious and well-appointed and had a balcony overlooking the gardens. Food was excellent!"

"Die Unterkunft bietet einen wunderschönen Stadt- und Meerblick. Der Garten des Hotels ist ebenso sehr einzigartig und liebevoll mit Rückzugsmöglichkeiten gestaltet. Das Frühstück ist fantastisch. "Very nice resort. Clean and big rooms. Breakfast and dinner buffet with a lot variety of food. During our stay was my wife birthday and the management of the resort surprise us with a cake and a bottle of sparkling wine. The resort is in good central location. "Hotel muito bom, com várias atividades, 3 piscinas, comida e bebida muito boa. O único ponto negativo foi que o quarto que me deram foi para pessoas com necessidades especiais, quando pedi para trocar disseram que o hotel estava cheio. Ponto mais que positivo foi a animação na piscina do Gonçalo e a gentileza em todos os momentos, melhor funcionário do hotel. "
