All staffs were full of kindness and storing a luggage service was available with that made me happy. However, the bathroom was disgusting! This hotel is with the balcony of a beer bar so that customers who just have a fun of drinking can get inside anytime even when we are taking shower. Actually, some of them had seen my naked by accident there was no any private!!

Girl checking me in was below par. No one showed me round to anything. At night you have to use the back stairs to get into your room, if your watching tv, but i hadnt been shown were they were. She didnt tell me anything - just gave me the keys and thats it. Bed was comfy, sheets clean, lots of crockery in kitchen, good location. Lots of onstreet parking nearby. PAYG washing machines Not allowed to stay here if you live in adelaide!! I got told, "on this one occasion ill let you, but we're for international guests only as we're an international hostel - its in the booking terms and conditiins". I live an hour outside of adelaide and needed something cheap overnight for work. Hence i wont go back again unless i take my uk drivers license

Superb location

Glenelg Beach Hostel is brilliantly located just a few minutes walk to the beach and a generous selection of cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. The tram stop is also so close which is a great way to get to and from the city centre. The actual hostel building is in the form of old style terrace housing with high ceilings. The on-site facilities are fine but could do with a revamp, but that would no doubt increase the price. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Property was clean and staff was ok. I am glad when I arrive after 10pm the reception still opened. Please note the reception is a pub and it closes at 10pm. It would be nice to receive with the booking confirmation instructions for check in after 10pm.

beautiful heritage building in a fantastic location! check-in was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a private room which was spacious, clean and comfortable, the shared bathrooms were also kept very clean. my room had a fan (no aircon), which was fine because it was only 24C that day, but I'm not sure how comfortable it would be on a really hot day.

Superb hostel!

Loved our stay at Glenelg hostel! Locatiom great - pubs, shopping, beach - all close range. Reception very helpful, nice and friendly. Booked a private room (room 5G) and it was clean and spacious. It had plenty of storage options also (shelves, clothes hangers). Room had access to upstairs balcony which was private (only 2 rooms had access there).

Probably a bit expensive for a private room at a backpackers, room was cramped and no tv. But did the job and staff were helpful.

Not the best hostel

Good location, average kitchen, "free breakfast" was just bread and jam, "free parking" was actually just free street parking nearby, if you could find a spot. No outside alcohol allowed as the entire place is licensed. Window in room didn't close.

Over Night Stay

No hassle stay. Quick check in, friendly service. Great place if all you need is a place to lie your head. Only negative was the noise, lets just say very thin walls.

Perfect for an overnight stay

I stayed one night before an early morning flight room was clean shower was hot... staff fun and friendly.. the room was freezing though. Maybe heating or another blanket is my only criticism
