"Clean rooms fair selction of food."

"The hotel is quite dated. The room was fine, although I had contacted the hotel prior to arrival asking for a cot to be provided. When we arrived there was no cot, they didn’t bring it until gone 10pm which was so late as the baby couldn’t go to sleep until it arrived. They also only provided 2 towels for the 4 of us so we had to ask for that too. Our balcony was huge but it was shared between 3 rooms and so people would just walk past our room so not much privacy. The pool was freezing cold so couldn’t really use it. The gym was really rubbish and shut for a lot of the day. The sauna you had to pay extra for and was only open certain times and my husband got asked to leave because it was women’s session even though no one was in there. The hammam I had was really nice, but the staff didn’t speak English so I had no idea what to do or what was going on. I have had hamman in the past where you can get a massage with it too but they didn’t seem to want to do that, really weird. The kids club, which was mostly the reason why we picked this hotel was rubbish. We went one day and the staff left so we were unable to leave our child there. The next day it was shut and then the last day it was open but no one in there. When I went to seek them out they said they weren’t going in the kids club but would be playing football which my daughter wouldn’t want. It was really rubbish. They should have a timetable like other places and stick to it. The hotel had a good location"

"The reception area is lovely but the room was tired and the standard of decoration wasn’t great however we only really use the room for a place to sleep. We had a room facing the sea which also faced the main road, we found it to be quite noisy with cars beeping their horns at 3am and people arguing outside. The gym is almost the worst we have used in a hotel. The pool area was nice and the cocktails delicious. Be aware of a trick we found in the hotel bar and other places in Morocco where they say they can’t give you change and ask to keep it. The Padel courts on site were good, you have to pay extra for these. The breakfast was really nice but 2 of the days there was no clean cups or glasses. The person cooking the pancakes kept handling the food then picking her phone up in between which isn’t very hygienic. There are signs saying you can’t take your own food and drink in, we did see people carrying in some bottles water without being challenged. Overall for the price it was acceptable."

"Breakfast had good options AC just didn’t work well and was told they were updating the unit later in the year Sofa bed is not traditional one where the bed does not pull out so beware before booking that format of room. Have to sleep on sofa Overall the new rooms look nice and decent area to most tourist things and restaurants "

"As it was our first time in Agadir we didn't know what to expect.We had booked bed and breakfast so we could get out and about through the day and at night. The hotel chain.Barcelo,was familiar enough to us and seemed reasonably priced. We were greeted by a lovely lot of smiling welcoming faces at reception and the concierge service. unfortunately our room was not ready until near 4 pm so it was a bit if a wait. The room we had was ok. Comfy beds, Air Con not a thing when we were there not sure if it gets ramped up in hot weather? we were surprised to have been given all inclusive wrist bands.It was not mentioned it was an upgrade .We perhaps thought it an oversight? We did enjoy that part of things but generally we thought the food a bit same old same old? Not all food was hot at a buffet style restaurant area... we'd say the lunch seemed a little nicer than evening.Mist of the time was spent looking for cutlery and napkins! We had lunch out and had 4 evening meals outwith the hotel. it's not really an area with British pubs and restaurants so you still have to look about for the type of food you enjoy. Although looked like a few bars selling alcohol were close to the hotel all the music was more Arabic/Moroccan so it didn't really entice us to go in which was a bit disappointing ?Agadir isn't quite catering for Brits abroad just yet.The hotel entertainment was not something we tended to hang about for at night.Overall great to experience Agadir."

"The room was impeccably clean, the staff were AMAZING, bed was very comfortable. The only thing is there was occasionally a sewage smell coming through the bathroom and it was very difficult to be ok with this. But it didn’t really matter than that it really "

"We would not return to this hotel. After arriving on Saturday, I began vomiting on Tuesday and my partner on Wednesday. We talked with other guests that were also sick after eating at the hotel restaurants. Having now searched for instances of food poisoning at this hotel, we can see this wasn’t an uncommon experience. Most of the buffet food is bland and some of it horrible, tasting genuinely off or unpleasant. The food is poorly labelled, with dishes under the wrong stickers or stickers missing. As a vegetarian, there aren’t many options - when I chose a cheese salad, it turned out to have some kind of squid in it. After asking a waiter, who asked a chef, they directed me to another salad, which had pieces of chicken in it. Some of the staff are lovely and friendly, but others are very grumpy and make you feel like you are an inconvenience. Our room was cleaned well but the rooms are dated and in need of renovation - there is mould in the bathrooms and a slight smell of damp. The private beach is a small area combed back from a stony beach with lots of plastic and (friendly but slightly concerning) stray dogs. The grounds of the resort itself are beautiful and the pools are lovely to swim and lounge by."
