"I chose this hotel for its location next to a ski resort and I liked the look of the tatami rooms. This hotel is very cheap and you get what you pay for. The room was small and old, the futon mattresses you use to make your bed were thin and I woke up achy every day. The staff were helpful and friendly with limited English. "I loved the onsite Onsen and style of traditional Japanese hotel rooms. The staff was very nice and helpful! Amenities were great! Beautiful hotel room view! The only downside is that the hotel is located on the outskirts of Nagano, so plan ahead as it’s not easy to reach via walking. Shuttle buses are readily available however to help get around."

"There were lots of neat activities like late night ramen and ice pops! The private onsens were very pretty as well. Tattoos are allowed in private onsens, but not public ones (but if you do have tattoos, they give you skin covers to wear if you do want to go into the public ones). They do charge for the bathroom tub, I believe, but it's only 300 yen for one click of the button. Otherwise very fun and highly recommend! You definitely get what you pay for (in a good way) :)"
