"Highly recommend El MaPi. Logistically convenient, a very easy walk from train station, and close to the bus station heading up Machu Pichu. Hotel has an earthy/ nature oriented feel, very relaxing. Staff are very friendly, extremely helpful. Room was nice, clean, seemed fairly new/ updated. Restaurant was very good for both dinner and breakfast, fun bar for after dinner. I didn’t visit the spa, but am sure it was great too."

"Pros: Steps away from the train station, located in beautiful location, breathtaking views from the hotel, breakfast is too good, enough options to fuel ourselves in the morning. They can hold our bags in luggage room, hotel is clean. Consider booking the room with Mountain View Cons: The rooms are small, sufficient for 2 people per room, bathroom is very small, they don’t have soft tissues in the bathroom, front staff is not friendly and helpful"

HOTEL LUZ GARDEN

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel is great, plenty of hot water and water pressure, located right next to train station and everything else. Perfect for a stay on your way to Machu Picchu."

Rockrivers Machu Picchu

10/10 Excellent

"The inn is very close to the train station, which is convenient, though it can get a little loud when trains pass by. The property is clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Mary was especially helpful. We arrived fairly late, and during check-in, she advised us to get our Machu Picchu tickets right away rather than wait until early the next morning. Thanks to her advice, we secured our tickets that evening and may have avoided missing out on our preferred circuit. She was also very knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions. We really appreciated her help!"

Casa Andina Standard Machu Picchu

8/10 Good

"We booked two junior rooms with 1 king size bed for one night in October 2026. My husband and I got the king size bed room but my 2 adult children got assigned a room much smaller than ours and with only a queen size bed. My kids didn’t inform me until the morning after when we checked out so I was unable to discuss this with the reception. Other than this, the hotel location was very convenient. The train literally unloaded passengers in front of the hotel. Boarding the train is about a 3 minute walk to the train station. The hotel provides a note to the guest that there will be a train that will pass by the hotel around 11:30 pm. Location wise the hotel is close to a lot of restaurants. Buffet breakfast is alright. Bottled water is provided in the room but cost money, however, they have a water filter station that you can refill your water bottles. The hotel is also willing to hold onto our luggage for us once we checked out. Overall, I will recommend this hotel."
