The staff and other guests were friendly and pleasant to deal with. The free pancakes each morning were a nice surprise. The communal bathroom could do with an upgrade, but everything worked. Not sure how rooms are selected/allocated, my room was almost as far as possible from the communal bathroom.

Pancakes each morning were great and stimulated friendly interactions between guests and staff. Taco the pussycat was a hit with our 11 year old. Amenities were great, generally clean plenty of room & equipment to cook your own meals. The men’s bathroom stinks, Urinal poorly cleaned/maintained.

This place are in the centre of the town. Walks easily everywhere. Rooms only and shared toilets and baths, however, it is perfect just for a couple who loves travelling and exploring places, not looking for a decent room. Good for a group of friends. Totally recommended to all explorers and backpackers.

If you want to be in the centre of town the location is quite good with public transport just across the road. I had a private room bed was very uncomfortable mattress has definitely had its day, shared bathroom facilities are definitely not great needs renovation. But depending on your budget it nay just be your thing. Lots of interesting guests to meet and strike up a conversation .Staff were friendly.

Toilets especially the urinal smelled so bad that I was not able to use the full facility like shower as it's all in the same room. I don't understand why a toilette has to smell so bad that you have to dry reach. Use bleach twice a day should eliminate your problem. Also, got maximum 2 hours of sleep as the noise of the communal area did not stop until 3 am. Location and staff are excellent. Would never use again unless the toilettes get upgraded.

I enjoy this place, it was built in 1849 as the name of the place. The room is simple, with 1 window, 1 fan, 1 table lamp, no TV. However, there is a common area with Books, TV, Table Tennis, Board Games, etc There is also a common kitchen with all the pot and pans. The best of all, free Pancakes for breakfast. Location wise, this place is walking distance to town centre, very convenient. I deduct 1 star is because the place is a little old, and need some repair on certain areas, like some shower cubicle door is broken, gents urinal flush is leaking, kettle needs replacing. If you can get pass those minor defect, this place is fantastic
