"My wife and I stayed a night en route to the ferry in Port Hardy. We are so happy we chose to stay at the Sportsman Inn. The whole town was so quaint and charming. The people were terribly nice. The food at the little pub was top notch. Some city joints could learn a thing or two. Our room was spottless, the bed was plush and soft. Parking was easy, and the staff was pleasant. "This is a 100 year old hotel in the village of Alert Bay. Our room had a small balcony with a great view. The breakfast included bread, fruit and yogurt. The dining room downstairs had a limited menu. Don’t pay any attention to the one posted online. Prices, of course were higher , but the food was good. "

" Very clean and quiet. Comfy beds including the futon. Excellent pillows. I’d have wished for another handtowel and washcloth for the third guest. Somehow we couldn’t get the lights in the bedroom to stay lit? But it was easy to open the lockbox on the door and the view is glorious. We’d stay again. Gilakasla. "

"Sointula is a photographer's paradise! My only regret is that we only stayed for one night. Our room had a water view that you could watch all day long. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and courteous. There is a kitchen that guests can use to prepare their own food. The water in the hotel is very soft and drinkable. We are hoping to return again, this time staying for a few days of rest and relaxation!"
