Helpful and friendly staff. Good sized room for a solo traveller and it was clean, with good lighting and shower. The area is a nice one to stay in, with Vondelpark nearby and an easy route to the main tourist areas, either walking or by tram. Would happily stay here again.

I read in a previous post there were no lifts and you had to use the staircase to get to the room, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the stairs were narrow and winding, difficult when you have luggage. The room was a lot smaller than expected and the bathroom. A comfortable stay for 1 night and convenient for trams.

We were very disappointed with this place! While the pictures on the hotel website and Expedia shows a very nice hotel, the reality is completely different! The hotel looks like a cheap chinatown hotel, the room was cold and several furniture damaged!

It was fine

A bit on the noisy side with paper-thin walls, but it did what it had to do. Gave us a place to sleep and a place to have a shower. A really nice shower. We did know about the stairs and no elevator before we checked in but it was a bit of a pain to climb when you are at the top. We were offered another room with twin beds on a lower level.

It is not really worth my money. The pictures of the room at the time of booking not representing the really of how the rooms are now. The basic furniture is very old .. The stairs are horrible.The room need the new paint. I won’t really suggest this hotel

Avoid if you can!

Steep steps to the second floor, and hair everywhere. If they put you in room 12, run a mile. Right at the top of the building, at the top of some very steep stairs, and with a damp problem so bad it made a birthday card soggy within 48 hours. They did move us to room 4 after I asked to be moved but no apology was given, and they had tried to suggest we were at fault, and basically made us pack up immediately so they could move us into another room. When doing this I discovered a slipper under the bed that didn't belong to us. I left it where I found it, but it was moved with our belongings... Room 4 looks out onto the street, where works began on the tram lines at 7:30am. We were also awoken by late check-ins (our room was above reception) and the fan of another room I think, as well as hearing a child running overhead while we were trying to sleep. The pillows were appalling and we've both got bad necks as a result. The bedding in room 4 was holey. I would 100% avoid this place, as it not only ruined my partner's birthday but our first holiday in 3 years, as I've had to spend a lot of time dealing with this through hotels.com as well as at the hotel. Currently waiting on a resolution, but there is never a manager available to talk with hotels.com.

El personal es bueno aunque les falta dar “la milla extra”. La habitación es buena por el precio que pagamos, nada extraordinario. Baño muy limpio. El área tiene excelente ubicación, muy cerca de todo y con mucho transporte. No hay estacionamiento y en la calle o en un público es muy caro. Venden un café exquisito

Das Zimmer war leider sehr klein und zudem sehr hellhörig, sodass man viel von den Nachbarn mitbekam. Im Zimmer gab es keinen Kühlschrank. Direkt nach dem Einchecken hatten wir außerdem einen Stromausfall und mussten fast eine Stunde warten, bis die Sicherung gefunden und das Problem behoben wurde. Personal war zwar bemüht, aber insgesamt eher enttäuschender Aufenthalt.

Bij aankomst om 12 uur konden we al inchecken, alleen nog niet naar de kamer. De bagage konden we achterlaten in het ontbijthoekje, onbeveiligd.. de lobby zag er netjes uit. De trap naar de kamers is smal en stijl. De kamer is oké, maar niet heel netjes. De douche is klein en zag er vies uit. We gebruikte een campingbedje voor onze baby, maar deze was kapot. Een van de stangen van de bovenrand was ingezakt. Bij het aangeven hiervan, kon de man achter de receptie hier niks aan doen omdat dit een taak was van de housekeeping en ze waarschijnlijk maar 1 babybedje hadden. De kamer was erg lawaaierig. Zowel geluid van buiten was heel goed te horen als het geluid in het hotel van de andere gasten. De ligging daarentegen is echt top!

Quick review of the Apple Inn is that I would not stay here again. Here is the good and the bad. The Good: The location is excellent. It’s a short walk to Vondelpark, or to a nice bakery. It’s on the #2 tram line, which can take you throughout the city. Most is the staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a nice patio area to escape to. The Bad: If you have difficulty negotiating stairs request a room on the first floor. The stairs risers are very small and steep. In the compact room we found a TV that receives one station, a lukewarm shower and a safe that did not open. We asked for the safe to be repaired but it was not. Also, the breakfast cook appeared to dislike Americans.
