Room was very clean and well maintained. Check in staff were not very friendly. Parking lot is full of pot holes. Hallway on ground zero before taking the lift to get to our room smelt mouldy. Room was very spacious and location is close to public transport.

This hotel was vert convient to major highways in the Ntherlands. Food was good breakfast was included and dinner meal prices were reasonable $$-$$$. Bed was comfortable room good size for a single or double.

What's to say, just slept there. Room was spacious and clean, with comfy beds and great shower. There was supposed to be a night receptionist, but late Saturday night there was nobody to be seen; bit funny that.

Staff were wonderful. I enjoyed the meals and drinks. Breakfast was nice. Lovely view from the dinning room. The only problem was the stone driveway. It was a little difficult to wheel a suitcase or someone with a wheelchair to the front doors..

It is at a very convenient location. But with every visit, the quality has gone down….. example: the ground floor has been “renovated” to there are no twin bed rooms left on this floor. Now you have a king size bed with the light-switches half covered by the mattress and a 220v socket IN your bed. I made some pictures of this “shocking” discovery!

Good staff. Clean room. Excellent bed, one of the best we've had in a hotel room. Shower is excellent if a little dark. Lighting in the room isn't very bright. Glad we had the room with balcony, that was a great spot in the warm evenings for drinks & supper. Handy that the room had a fridge, and breakfast service has a 4 hour window. Evening menu is restricted, especially at weekends, so if using regularly it will soon become boring. Service on Saturday in the restaurant wasn't great. Out of 4 mains, 1 was off and it wasn't busy, the server was very young and not very interested in the job. Breakfast was always busy but the service was always top notch. Unfortunately, theres only so much cheese & ham you can take 😁 although plenty of options (yoghurts, cakes, danish pastries, cereals). Crispy bacon was a real boon though. All in all we can recommend Bastion very much, just find a restaurant in town (plentiful). Would be happy to return.

We went to the restaurant (Friday) and service was slow and we had to wait for a long time for service. The ordered food was ended. Not enought persons at work. We had a towel of our own and the roomcleaner took it. We had reserved two beds but we had a big bed and one blanket. We did not have the big bathtowels for the both of us (only one). We had to ask everything (and wc-paper). The parking was easy and good. The coffee machine was broken every morning at breakfast.

Didn't Meet its Potential

Pleasant place and comfy room, but very bad service and mediocre breakfast. On arrival the hotel couldn't find my booking. I turns out they had cancelled it only hours earlier and made no attempt to inform me of a problem. None of the reception staff knew what to do, but eventually rebooked me in, but there were no longer double beds available. Asking for a iron in the morning, I was told to fetch if from reception. "Normally we bring it but it's extremely busy" - there was nobody there and breakfast almost empty. I was then given a dirty iron which had to be changed. The process took half an hour! Breakfast service was pretty poor - the waitress forgot I'd ordered an omelette. The coffee was nasty and no toaster for bread. We did like the free pool table.
