The property is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. This has got to be one of my all time fav hotels. And the spa was the cherry on top. I stayed in a manor luxe room - beautiful! The staff are busy, so don’t expect anything quick. Shambolic is a good way to explain the staffing! The lady behind the bar needs customer service training. Her huffing and puffing was not appreciated when ordering drinks. Above all, even with the shambolic faulty tower style staff I loved my stay!

Disappointed our room was not made up had to phone reception and ask them to make it up no hot water at the bathroom sink tap staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was good very picturesque hotel in lovely well maintained grounds excellent spa overall a very nice few days stay.

We loved the spa really nice. All the negative comments should be deleted as it’s not true that the spa is run down. They seem to have done a huge refurb and everything looks great. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing

Beautiful grounds and the breakfast was lovely - good quality and beautifully cooked. The staff were really lovely, accommodating and friendly. There were some very minor things that might have made the stay even better, for example, we found the temperature of the water in the spa area a little cold. We also stayed in The Mews cottages on the ground floor. The blinds were blackout which meant we had either privacy or light but couldn't have both if spending any time in the room during the day.

Best hotel in Kent

This is probably one of the best hotels in the UK certainly in Kent. I’ve been going here for now over 20 years the staff of fantastic The place has just an awesome atmosphere well recommended

Such a beautiful building very very poorly maintained the first room we were in had plaster falling from the wall and smashed tiles in the bathroom. They changed our room and that was much nicer but still poorly maintained. The gardens are amazing and very well maintained! The bar staff didn’t know what drinks were (aperol) and was only saved by a very nice F&B manager! Dinner was great however breakfast was terrible with a long queue after being told to book for 09.30 we stood in line for 20 mins and no table was available then no pastries at all and asked if I would like toast after my breakfast arrived. Reception was not manned in the morning and the person manning reception when he had clearly returned from his cigarette wasn’t helpful at all! In summary a lovely location building and grounds with some to the worst Maintenece I’ve seen in years and I travel globally every week and totally understaffed with the trained and the untrained!!

Had a good time in lovely surroundings, we had a nice room & generally good customer service - especially the breakfast staff, but the place needs renovating; some rooms had rotten wooden windows, gardens required tending - general TLC.
