"Everything was great except the temp control for the room. Had to ask reception on his to make it work and she said she can change it from heat to a/c from there, that didnt make sense to me but I was able to cool the room. Last night there it wouldnt work at all to cool down the room, we left early."

"Room spelled very musky. Staff was not very helpful. Poor communication. Breakfast was OK. But you could see they were running out of things. I really hate to write a bad review and I always give the benefit of the doubt and maybe they were just having a bad time except the room did smell bad. There was no hot water in the morning and when my wife tried to take a shower, she was never able to get the hot water working the night before. Location was great, but as for the rest, if you stay here in this town, don’t pick this hotel."

"Very clean rooms and the whole hotel is in great condition. Marvao is a very special and nice village within an old fortress on top of a mountain about 840 meters over the sea level. Owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely stay!"

"Poorly maintained hotel We did not have even hot water for the shower They did not tell us it was a problem with the water heater when we checked in, we may have asked for a refund and look for another hotel, but obviously was too late by the time we found a little note they left in the room. "The room had a bad smell ( like toilet) to it and it did not dissipate. The front desk tried to help me with a taxi but did not warn me that I did not have to be at the airport 2 1/2 hours before my flight. The small airport did not even open until an hour before my flight. "

"I highly recommend a stay at this historic property in Marvão. It has an old world charm and the amenities are excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable, brightly lit, the breakfast superb and the view from the dining room is amazing. The staff were friendly and most helpful. "
