"I booked this room for one night with my two young children to attend a sporting event nearby. The hotel is situated very near to the railway station and above a very noisy pub. The room itself is very basic which was fine for our one night stay and we appreciate there is little to be done about the outside noise however the window was broken we had to wedge it shut, this didnt help with the noise volume. The water was cold in the evening which meant cold showers before bed the room overall was very dusty/ not properly cleaned and the mugs for tea were dirty/unwashed. Overall the room lacked proper care and attention it was tired and in need of some repair some of the furniture was broken and in need of replacement bits were peeling off and the bathroom shelves were stained. The heating /towel rail also couldnt be switched on /off. The blind at the windo was also broken. We ended up going to our event the next day very tired as we were uncomfortable and kept awake for most of the night."

"Good location. Clean spacious room. Breakfast very good. Fresh food delivered daily. Had a 3 course meal one evening and couldn't fault it. Reasonably priced. All staff very friendly and welcoming. Would return."

"Crazy tight parking, witnessed one lady crawling through the hatch to get to the driving seat to get her car out. Short staffed, service was slow at the restaurant, took 45 minutes to get a drink, and no they were not busy just untrained people. Young Chef at breakfast had a bad attitude, slamming down dishes and cutlery, completely put me and family off of breakfast. Good location for walking the town of Shrewsbury, and the bus station is next door, so you don't have to unwedge your car from the Multi story car park."

"Rooms were clean and staff were helpful. Had booked a room with a double bed. It was small - more three quarters size. Room was also small and the bathroom was tiny. Noise from other rooms adjacent (light switches being turned on) was more than you would expect, and when taps were run or toilets flushed in adjacent rooms it was very loud. Cooked breakfast was below par - ingredients seemed to be basic/cheap. Car parking is tight and easy for your car to be blocked in. No water supplied to drink in rooms and only 2 tea bags provided for a double room with 2 people staying. Not a terrible hotel but for £145 a night in Shrewsbury we expected more."
