Wonderful B & B

My husband and I spent 3 nights here. Aida was the most helpful hostess. She helped us with restaurant selections, directions, activities, etc. Our room was great and had a large bathroom. The breakfast each morning was delicious, including her hoe made dried fruit medley. The location was very convenient for parking, walking to all of the Avignon sights, and going out to dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

A perfect stay at Avignon

This bed and breakfast was outstanding. Our room was the blue room. It was very comfortable and the walk-in shower was perfect after a long day of walking throughout Avignon. The B and B has a very nice courtyard for relaxing and the sitting room was available for guests to relax. The best thing about the stay was the hostess, Madame Aida. She was gracious and very helpful in arranging tours for visits throughout Provence, and recommending great restaurants. Our continental breakfasts were with fresh local fruits, fresh breads, and juice/coffee. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Good location in old Avignon

I had a very enjoyable stay at this B & B, which is located inside the walls of Avignon. The proprietor, Aida, was helpful and hospitable.

Delightful, Personal, City-Centre 'Home-from-Home'

This splendidly-restored and chic house -- up an ancient and narrow back-street, just near the massive city walls (the 'rempart'), but within minutes of a the city's main attractions -- has a lovely Middle-Eastern style patio/garden area ('le clos') where a fresh, very generous, well-varied and high-quality continental breakfast is served in good weather. On less good days, you eat in the large and comfortable kitchen area. The sitting room/lounge is a sophisticated and comfortable area with interesting art and antiques, a large TV and French magazines, books and DVDs. Our room overlooked the patio and street, and was more than adequate. The daily housekeeping was excellent. The key attraction for our week-long stay was Madame Aida, however. She made us remarkably welcome, with useful advice for restaurants (and they always lived up to their reputations from her!) and trips out of Avignon, good conversation -- and even help with our rusty French. She did us a number of small, well-appreciated kindnesses 'above and beyond the call of duty' for a B&B host, as well. We enjoyed every aspect of Le Clos du Rempart. It's by no means the least expensive such place to stay in Avignon (and neither is it the most expensive) -- but it definitely felt well worth the price. We will probably return to Avignon next year to see and do many things we didn't pack into this first 7-day visit; and if we do, we'll be very happy indeed to stay again with Mme. Aida at Le Clos du Rempart.

2nd floor walk up apartment in Avignon

The owner, Aidia, met us upon arrival. The accommodations was in fact a 2bedroon apartment. The apartment was clean and well appointed. The downside was that the listing on Hotels.com listed breakfast as being included - it was not, nor was the price adjusted, the listed discusses a bar and garden area to rest - no bar and since the other part of the home was rented we did it have access to the garden, the listing shows a smoke free property but we clearly smelled smoke. While Aidia was gracious and welcoming I'm not sure we would have chosen this home if we knew of these changes.

Little gem

This is a classy bed and breakfast in a quiet corner of Avignon, just 10-15 minutes walk from the centre and not far from some lovely restaurants. Aida was the perfect hostess - charming, helpful and informative but not in an intrusive way. We had the Blue Room which was absolutely lovely (fabulous ensuite with walk-in shower) and overlooked the secluded courtyard, a delightful place to sit in the late afternoon sun with a book and a glass of something. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Le Clos du Rempart is a stylish fusion of traditional French, north African and contemporary. We loved it and look forward to a return visit.

Loved our stay in Avignon, cannot wait to return.

The Clos du Rempart was perfect for the two of us because the proprietor Madame Assad was so welcoming and so warm-hearted. The apartment was pretty and roomy and decorated with beautiful original art.

Perfect for our family holiday

Beautiful apartment within the walls of Avignon. Walking distance to everything within the walled part of the city and beyone. Aida was the loveliest hostess - completely accessible for any questions and enthusiastically phoned taxi's and made bookings for us - over and above our expectations. Clean, safe, quiet and warm apartment. So homely. I would recommend to anybody. Thanks Aida :-)

Comfortable, quiet, convenient

If you don't mind walking ten minutes you are close to everything. Aida was so personable, provided a breakfast of fresh fruits, cereal, yogurt, ham, cheeses, warm croissants, jams and honey, and also marked wonderful restaurants on our map and made reservations for us. The king bed, spacious room with large windows and tiled bath with large shower were just what we'd hoped. A great few nights in Avignon.

Stay here.

Madame Asad is the best hostess you could ask for! She guided two semi-clueless tourists on a wonderful 3 day tour of Provance. Her hotel was nicely situated in a quiet area inside the city walls. The room was comfortable and large work beautiful garden views. A great place to stay.

Comfortable stay

We had a two bedroom apartment with a nice bathroom and a kitchen. The owner Aida was very helpful. We had enough to eat for breakfast. She gives you good advice. Walking into the centre is about 10 min walk. We walked the whole Avignon. B&B is by the wall and when you come out its the rhone river. We had a wonderful stay

Quietness and quality with a little touch of class

This beautiful B&B was recommended to me by a friend who had stayed here previously. From my very first contact with the host, Aida, everything went perfectly. Aida was always prompt to respond to any query. She provided help with finding a good tour company, a rental car agency, best way to reach her from the TGV train, orientation of the local neighbourhood, excellent places to eat, made reservations with restaurants and even helped with the laundromat and drying laundry - very handy when you are travelling. We had a large upstairs room with large very private and beautifully appointed bathroom. We overlooked a beautiful, quiet & peaceful courtyard to which we had full access. We enjoyed resting in a beautifully appointed moorish influenced lounge area and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each day of the three we were in Avignon. Fresh squeezed juice, fresh coffee and tea, croissants, cereals, cheese selection, yogurt etc etc. The house is beautiful, the beds very comfortable, by far the icing on the cake is Aida herself - a warm, informative, charming and gracious hostess - very non intrusive but seems to appear at just the right moment. Thank you to Aida - she obviously enjoys having guests in her home and loves adding the extra touches that add to your enjoyment as a guest.

Wonderful ambiance

The front door belied the delights inside. Aida made us feel that we were welcome friends in her home, she recommended restaurants, sites and trips. Breakfasts were a delight siting in the pretty garden under the arbour. It would have been easy to sit and talk all morning had t Avignon not been waiting for us. I highly recommend The Clos and thank Aida for making our stay special. A delightful house beautifully run .

Great B&B

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Madame Assad was extremely helpful, fluent in English, suggested great restaurants, made fabulous breakfasts and helped with our day trip traveling. Her B&B is beautifully furnished, lovely courtyard garden, very clean and comfortable. It was one of the better places we stayed during our time in France!

Home away from Home

Aida was relieved to welcome us after we ran a bit late signing up the lease car then doing a couple of "U turns" finding the house! It was great having a garage for the car and able to park it for a couple of days as everything was within walking distance. The breakfasts were superb and the local knowledge in a new city was welcomed help after 30++ hours of flying etc. More than happy to recommend this B&B
