"This hotel is like me - a bit old and tired. However this was more than made up for by the fabulous breakfast, tremendously helpful staff and the dining options which included vegan and vegetarian options which were well balanced and delicious. The value for money was unbelievable. The hotel locations could not be beaten and Merida itself is one of the most astonishing historical places I’ve ever visited. Outstanding."

"We stayed here with 2 young children, all the staff were lovely. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was a good selection. And its well located with a big supermarket near by, as well as bars and restaurants. It was a short walk from the hotel to the nearby roman Bridge and other sites. I would stay here again."

"Knowing only a few words of Spanish was of no hindrance to our stay at this perfectly located hotel in Badajoz. For instance, the reception staff helped us order taxis and transitioned seamlessly between Spanish and fluent English, for which we were most grateful. Having said that, all the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, initiating polite salutations in both languages as they recognised our Spanish language limitations. The restaurant staff quickly learned our choices of drinks, both hot and cold. Often they would offer us our coffee just as we liked it. A very nice touch, thank you! As mentioned by previous reviewers, the hotel location is perfect for arrival and departure by bus through the convenient proximity of the bus station 2 minutes walk away. We had many day trips to neighbouring towns, even one to Seville, by clean, efficient and inexpensive buses. The historical walled city is a leisurely 10 minute stroll away from the hotel, with many cafes en route. On days when we got weary after a long walk, a short, inexpensive taxi ride returned as efficiently to our comfortable hotel and room for relaxation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a base in the city/region for exploring the history and culture in this beautiful part of Spain. We stayed for 8 nights in May before moving onto Portugal."
