"The location is truly stunning. The view from the top floor and pool area is so spectacular. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was top quality and so much choice. Dinner was also excellent although pricy. The spa and pools were great as well. Overall the hotel is a great spot, some of the decor felt outdated and outdoors some repairs are needed. But we were very happy with our stay."

"Rooms were just okay, quite basic, very stark. The property, lobby, and restaurant were beautiful which was quite a contrast to rooms. Carpet was a bit dirty and musty smell in hallways. Pool and bar area was beautiful. Town was extremely quiet when we were there and unsure of walking around at night. Exceptional wine tour by Bambuti arranged by hotel. Overall a nice stay. "

"We were offered a switch to a river view when we checked in and it was well worth it. We got a fabulous view across to the Sandeman's estate opposite and of the river either side. The room itself was very good, decent size, quiet and comfortable. Service was superb apart from the long wait at times to get a drink at the bar. It was worth the wait for the very comfortable lounge which had a huge picture window overlooking the Douro. Breakfast is very good, a well stacked buffet with a wide...
