Lovely stay ,our double room was clean and comfortable with a good view over train station, up two flights of stairs so may be difficult if you have mobility problems.
Welcoming staff and bar not too pricey
Small car park and handy for Bangor city centre
Huge breakfast was really good
Fine place to stay is you’re passing through - I was enroute to Holyhead for the ferry. The bar and patio are quite noisy, and the WiFi was down the whole time I was there? But otherwise a solid place to stay in Bangor.
Central to the university.
We needed to move our son from one house to another which was within easy distance.
Parking private and next to hotel.
Everyone courteous .
Terrific location across the street from train station so easy access to Anglesey without high prices. Quaint, comfortable & clean. Fabulous restaurant with Thai food. Staff were friendly and so helpful.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness and quality of the rooms/bathrooms were disappointing. I understand that a bunkhouse is a low-cost option and not to expect luxury, but I did not feel very comfortable here. On the plus side, the restaurant served wonderful food (my dinner was delicious) and the staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Room was perfect and the Staff were very helpful and very polite

Good place to stay within 20-30 minutes of the mountains. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Especially when we arrived late. There was no hassle at check in. Room was clean and beds very comfy which was needed after a long day on the hills! Coffee amenities in the room were also great.
There is also a bar downstairs which we never used so I can't comment on that however it always had people in it.
Our room did need a little bit of TLC and maintenance but we weren't too fussed as the room was only used for sleeping in.
Overall, we would stay here again.
The staff was courteous on check in and the pub. The bed was very uncomfortable and the electric shower alternated between very hot and cold. I saw blaxk mold on the corner of the bathroom. I would not recommend.

Stayed here for one night. This used to be called the Traxx but is now under new management and has been refurbed. My room was clean and tidy and the bathroom spotless. The bed was comfy. Some of the decor looks a bit suspect but can be easily overlooked. I

First of all, the landlady was really lovely, and she cooked a great breakfast (not included, but not expensive)
The rooms are above a fun pub, with a friendly atmosphere.
My room was Very spacious. The water was hot, shower good & there was Liquid hand soap & body wash provided. A Kettle is provided with tea & coffee.
The Hote/pub is Right next to Bangor station, with regular buses that run into town, or a 20 minute walk. There was a car park next door too.
But the room was pretty tatty, and in desperate need of a lick of paint & some tlc.
The bed wasn’t very comfortable, with a thin but sweaty synthetic duvet, & thin pillows.
There is no fan or aircon, but the windows open onto the outside seating area and a very busy road so very noisy if opened.. they are double glazed though, so they do shut out a lot of noise when closed
The pub plays music inside & outside - fairly loudly (there is actually a speaker outside), although it is turned off later in the evening.
Last gripe.. the cups provided were tiny, and there wasn’t enough milk.
Hotel name is not visible from the street. Parking on site was appreciated. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was 'open' but the cook was not there. After a while they reached her by phone and she would be there in 15 minutes, and was told to take our orders and I paid for two 'specials'. After arrival, the cook/owner(?) came out and chatted with several locals and then brought her dog out to visit with a guests dog. Later she came out with a hairnet on making me optimistic. We had an overnight flight and a long day to this point. One couple came out of the kitchen with full meals. We watched them eat and take home the leftovers. Keep in mind no one had ordered food before us. Next, another couple were served, and ate their food. Clearly they noticed we had been waiting longer. After a while my food came out. 10 or 15 minutes later, my friend was told the cook read the order wrong and was now going to remake her food. By now I was finished, the bartender offered my friend a glass of beer, same as we had on arrival. By then she was past it, we were tired, hungry and angry. Eventually she got her food, and ate alone. Our meals were not worth waiting ..and waiting for. We were there for hours. The cook coming out and apologizing would have been a nice gesture. The next night we went elsewhere for food.
Su the owner was very accommodating and was flexible on our arrival time. Helpful reception was efficient and even showed us to the room. Spacious, clean and had all the usual facilities. Had the evening meal which was tasty and filling. Price was compatible with other local establishments. There is also free wi fi and limited free parking. A big bonus is that it is only a five minute walk into the city centre. Very enjoyable stay.
