Trip with Friends

PROS- Beautiful setting, Comfortable Bed and Pillows, Common area was relaxing with a hot tea service available at all times, Outdoor areas outstanding, Information about local area was readily available, CONS- Children and Pets are allowed so if you are desiring a more romantic stay or have allergies these may be an issue, while the food was creative it was not always substantial-it was vegetarian based,

The property is dated and in desperate need of repairs - mold and rust on doorframes, no air conditioning and windows don’t open or close properly, had to prop open with books! Linens on the bed were stained, worn and felt dirty... We paid for 3 nights but left early because it felt dirty to us. Name is misleading.... not what we expected with “ocean view suite” No WIFI, TV or cell service... VERY REMOTE!

Beautiful location, wonderful views. Room was fine, and the Inn was comfortable. Host was a little grumpy when we showed up, but mellowed a bit after conversation.

Beautiful setting with plentiful options for hiking and experiencing nature. Ocean front sandy and rocky beach just across from the inn. Views from our room of the ocean sights, sounds and smells of the water was invigorating. Historical inn with genuine and knowledgeable innkeepers. Isolated from the touristy areas. Worth the drive. Schoodic Acadia nearby. Impressive! Stay a week!

The location is beautiful. Ben and his staff are very accommodating. The breakfast every morning was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. He worked around my dietary restrictions due to my food allergies. The only complaint we had were a lack of hooks for hanging clothes in the bathroom. Ben is very knowledgeable about the area and made great suggestions for places to explore.

Fantastic stay, looking forward to a return

This inn is located on one of the most beautiful settings i've ever experienced. Not only are the grounds themselves lovely, with both gardens and natural meadows, but just across the (only lightly traveled ) road is an expansive sand beach (rare in Maine) owned by the inn keeper, great for relaxing with a book, running with the dog, or watching for seals. Amazing. We stayed a few nights in the farm house and in the captains house. Our beachfront rooms were charming and comfortable and both had lovely views of the cove. The commom living rooms both had fires (one in a fire place, the other in a wood stove) which was nice with a good book on chilly maine summer nights. The multicourse breakfast in the inn's dining room was different (cold fruit soup, warm breakfast bread (blueberry lemon was my fav), then an entree) but delicious. Unexpectably hardy for a meatless entree. Ben, the Innkeeper, was a treasure trove of information. He gave us great ideas for day trips from the Inn, but the best is just the quick drive to the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia National Park. We loved the day hikes and lunching in the picnic area. Much more peaceful than the busier part of acadia in mount desert isle. Other lesser known beautiful nature preserves are nearby and less traveled. We enjoyed lots of light hiking and beautiful views. If you do want to spend the day in the main park over on Mount Desert Isle the ferry from Winter Harbor is a great, and fub, way to get there and then you can use thegreat free bus system to get around the park. Nearby dining option are few but they are all good. Lunch on the wharf in Corea (lobster grilled cheese, yum!), Chase's (diner, maine style with good chowdah, lobster rolls, and grilled haddock)), the Pickled Wrinkle (for pizza and burgers) and the Saltbox ( for finer dining) Just a great Inn, a beautiful location, and a great stay! We cant wait to come back.

A nice B & B

Stayed on an overnight visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Facility is very close to the Schoodic entrance to Acadia, but is about an hour to the Bar Harbor entrance. Very quiet location right on the ocean. We were able to have the windows open and listen to the waves in the evening. The gentleman who greeted us on arrival, Ben, was very pleasant and informative. He provided many guides to sightseeing in the area as well as dinner recommendations. A three course breakfast was served on Sunday morning. They started with a cold strawberry soup that was surprisingly tasty. They then brought out a warm blueberry lemon bread. It was extremely good. The main course was Eggs Florentine. Again very good. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again.

Our favorite place to be!!!

We have returned to Oceanside Meadows Inn year after year and have never been disappointed. My husband and I love that area, love the Inn and love the friends we have made who own and run the Inn. The breakfast each morning is carefully made, carefully served and is delicious! The historic Sea Captain's home and the Farmhouse is quaint and lovingly cared for. Unfortunate for us, we could not plan the trip during the time that one of their 'events' took place. In the past years, we have enjoyed the events and appreciate the time and trouble that Ben takes to book these. Next year, I will try to plan well ahead so as not to miss that!! Every trip there has passed too quickly and I spend each winter looking forward to our next trip to Oceanside Meadows Inn. It is by far, our favorite place to be!!!

A unique way to experience Acadia!

We did not want the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor so we went for a quiet, interesting Inn. It has its own beach, beautiful gardens and hiking paths. Friendly staff and unique breakfasts presented with edibles from the gardens.

Loved our Trip

We had a fantastic time. Classic old Maine house so you know you're in Maine, which I love. We arrived on a Thursday night to learn that the Winter Harbor Music Festival was on site with a classical music performance and the next few days just flowed from that propitious start. We were charmed by the tea and biscuits all day in the living room and a fire in the evening so even when it rained, we were happy to be there reading, chatting with other guests, or playing chess. The inn keepers and their kids were so nice and interesting - we loved talking to them. The breakfasts were truly special. They helped us find great things to do and to know where to eat - the trip was great. I recommend it whole heartedly.

Charming Inn, Beautiful Setting

We had a lovely three-night stay at Acadia's Oceanside Meadows Inn. The Inn is quaint, comfortable, and beautifully situated, with its own nature preserve (complete with detailed brochures about the flora, fauna, and marine life) and a private beach directly across the roadway. Our room on the top floor of the Inn was a bit snug, but had a lovely view of the beach, and we went to sleep each night to the sound of the waves lapping in the cove. The breakfast portion of this Bed and Breakfast is truly remarkable, consisting of a fruit soup, homemade sweet bread, and a creative and tasty vegetarian entree, each garnished with edible flowers from the Inn's lush gardens. I would recommend Oceanside Meadows to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in a gorgeous rural area of coastal Maine.

Acadia Oceanside Meadows

Our stay at Acadia Oceanside Meadows was beautiful and comfortable . The breakfast prepared every morning made the beginning of our day lovely. The sight and the sounds of ocean waves was soothing to the senses. Ben always inquired of our welfare. Gave advises and provided anything we needed. Overall a very memorable stay!

Welcoming, comfortable, extreme beauty

My husband and I enjoyed a two-night stay at Acadia's Oceanside Meadows Inn. Innkeeper Ben was enormously helpful in getting us acclimated to the area. Our first day we drove off to explore, following Ben's advice to a T. From the bike rentals that we used to tour Acadia; to the hike on the Schoodic Head Overlook trail; to the Petit Manan National Refuge trails our experiences could not have been more enjoyable. Our first night at the Inn, we were fortunate enough to be there during a special musical performance Ben arranged in a converted barn. This was an unforgettable trip to Maine and we cannot wait to return.

Peaceful and pretty

The location of this B&B is superb, right across a quiet road from the ocean. At night with the windows open, we were lulled to sleep by the sound of waves breaking on the beach. Our room was comfortable, although the bathroom was tiny by any standard. We were greeted upon arrival and given an overview of the hiking trails and other amenities located on the property. There is hiking for every taste and ability; woods, ocean path, rocky shoreline, meadows. Beautiful gardens adorn the yard of the main building. The breakfasts were first-class. At night, because it was cool-ish, a fire was lit in the living room area where we relaxed at the end of the day. We enjoyed our stay here and only wished we could have stayed a few more days in order to take advantage of the trails. This property is also located near the Schoodic Peninsula an extremely scenic part of Down East Maine.

Phenomenal Breakfasts & Wonderful Service

Nice location, great food, beautiful gardens but a little misleading w/ respect to private Oceanfront. A community road lies in front of the inn (not that big of a deal to cross) and the beach was essentially used by the public. All in all, a fun, new area to explore.
