"Overall, we had a good stay, but there was one inconvenience at check-in that could have been avoided with better communication.
We booked a room with 1 king bed and a sofa bed. When we checked in, we were given our keys without being told that the room type we reserved was no longer available. We didn’t go to the room right away because we left for dinner.
When we returned around 8 PM, we discovered that we had been placed in a room with 2 queen beds instead. When I went back to the front desk, I was then told that our original room type was unavailable.
That information would have been very helpful at check-in. Finding out by surprise at 8 PM, especially when traveling with little kids, created unnecessary back and forth.
The good news is that the next day, the manager made it right and moved us into the king room with a sofa bed for the remainder of our stay. I really appreciated how the manager handled the situation.
Tip for families: At check-in, I recommend confirming the room type you are actually being assigned, even if you already have a reservation. It can save you an unnecessary surprise later, especially when traveling with young children."
