"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. "Since we last went to the Royal and Fortescue which was over 30 years ago it has had a major refurbishment. Our room was lovely, clean and well furnished. The bars were very smart and we had an excellent breakfast before departure. The staff were very polite and helpful. Our only minor complaint was the lift was out of action and we were on the third floor."

"The room was spacious, very clean and the bathroom was lovely and clean couldn’t fault anything. We ate at the restaurant the meals were lovely and a good choice to choose from. The only thing that was not 5/5 was the breakfast I had a cappuccino from the machine which was luke warm and there was no conserves for the toast or croissants, I had the smashed avocado and poached eggs on a muffin which was ok the eggs were cooked perfect the hollandaise was lacking seasoning. But would definitely stay again because the place was stunning and the views were to die for."

"This is a really nice hotel in a great location if you want to be in the centre of Lynmouth. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We ate a couple of times in the Ancient Mariner, which is attached to the hotel - very good pub food. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent - if you like a full english, you are in for a treat."

"We recently stayed at Croyde Bay, and our family room offered everything we needed, including a fridge, alongside all the usual essentials like an ironing board, hairdryer, and kettle. There was even an extra heater and a fan provided if needed. It was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. ​The facilities were perfect for our family. The swimming pool area was warm, clean, and well-maintained, complete with tidy changing rooms, sun loungers, a sauna, steam room, and hot tub. While we didn't use the gym, it looked amazing. Outside, the grounds and gardens were beautifully kept, and the outdoor play area, activities, and arcades kept the family thoroughly entertained. It was fantastic being so close to the beach; I just wish we had chosen a week with better weather! ​The buffet breakfast offered everything you could possibly want, nicely cooked and presented, with particularly amazing poached eggs! Dinner was equally good, and I highly recommend the chorizo and honey pizza. Above all, every member of staff we interacted with was remarkably friendly, helpful, and accommodating. ​The only drawback occurred on our final night when some teenagers were running through the corridors banging doors. While not ideal in general, it was made worse when it woke and frightened our four-year-old, leaving us struggling to get him back to sleep. Despite that, it was a fantastic stay, and we are already looking at when we can return!"
