"Our flight arrived in San Juan at 1:00 am. at 11:30 pm the hotel sent a message that due to a problem in Old San Juan they had no water pressure. It was too late to find a new hotel and the hotel didn't offer a free cancellation option. They also said they had no hot water because they use solar hot water and blamed the recent weather. We had booked 12 months in advance to stay 1 night before a cruise. We never would have booked a hotel with no hot water. We wanted to shower off the airplane germs and board the cruise clean with a fresh shave. We paid $250 total for the hotel and they gave us back $75, When we booked the hotel we just wanted a safe and comfortable place to sleep and get ready for the cruise. We didn't need ocean front or a pool because we planned on spending 9 total hours at the hotel. We were very disappointed we didn't know about the solar water and chance of no hot water when we booked. We stayed in February. The hotel itself was very clean. The management was very nice and kind and tried to be helpful. I just wouldn't stay again because we will always be flying in for just one night before a cruise and want to be able to shower. A hot shower is very important to us to feel clean. We've acttualy never even stayed at a hotel with no hot water but we live in the USA and the hotels all have hot water there. "

"Impressive lobby and pool area. The ocean/beach area is run down and could be nice if they would rake it and spend an hour a day working on cleaning up the sand. The cement around the pool is chipping and hurts to walk on. An awesome free breakfast. We ate lunch 3 times from the pool bar and had dinner 4 times in the lobby. All meals were excellent. Room was big, but slightly dated (didn't bother us). We heard no noise of other rooms. We went mainly for a nice beach and nice pools. I would go back. Good for kids and very nice to have good food at the hotel for dinner. "

"Beautiful, unique place; very clean; in a fantastic location in the heart of Old San Juan, adjacent to Fort Cristobal; restaurants nearby; 24 hour desk; cute library; excellent rooftop area with views. The negatives were: our room wasn’t ready at the 4 pm check in time so we had to wait; the next day housekeeping didn’t leave a bath mat towel or wash cloths. We didn’t notice until about to shower. We asked at the desk and they said it would be sent right up and never arrived. Our room was nice but lacked windows we could see out of-however other rooms had balconies etc so I’m sure very nice. Our room was less expensive so that was okay. Desk people were very nice and friendly; lemon water was available in the lobby; water was in the room. No phone in the room to call the desk; I would stay here again! More pros than cons. Very safe area. "
