We spent one night here during a 24 hour layover in Beijing. I only speak English. The staff is friendly, but the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Number one, the Wifi is terrible. It's not just slow, it's difficult simply to connect. Lobby Wifi is bad. Room wifi is worse. Being a traveler dependent on Wifi to plan and coordinate, this was a major issue for us. Much of the hotel rooms and hallways smell like smoke. The initial room we were given had a leak in the ceiling (it was raining that day) and water was literally dripping onto the bed. The staff apologized and upgraded us to a suite, but the suite smelled like smoke. It's supposedly a non-smoking hotel, but there are ashtrays in the rooms.
We stayed here in late May, but the Air Conditioning did not work and blew out hot air instead. Needless to say, it was a very hot night and one in which I got very little sleep. The refrigerator left items cool, but not the kind of cold that a working refrigerator would.
Free shuttle to the airport, but the driver was semi-rude and definitely did not have a customer service-oriented approach. Waited 25 minutes for pickup at the Airport because the valet was holding a sign for us with our names on it in the wrong terminal, despite having been told the flight number. Without some assistance from some friendly locals at the airport, we probably would have had to take a taxi.
Hotel staff has limited to no English abilities.
