I booked this hotel mainly for its proximity to the airport since I had an early flight the next morning. I tried to check in just one hour early and was told it would cost €50, which felt excessive since for the last 21 days of travel through Italy and multiple hotels I was never charged. Interestingly, rooms were only $15 more on Expedia, so I contacted them and they were great about helping.
This review is for the upgraded room:
The A/C barely worked. Despite calling reception and asking for it to be lowered, the lowest it got was 24°C. I woke up sweating multiple times.
The pillows were paper thin and very uncomfortable.
The photos showed amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and lotion but all I got was a shower cap and cotton swabs, so I had to dig out my own toiletries.
The bed was overly soft and lacked support.
Three small lights near the headboard shone directly onto my face, making it difficult to sleep.
Sound proof? I could hear everything.
I ordered room service and no one ever came back to collect the tray. The food was okay. At checkout, I was charged $80 for room service without an itemized bill. By my math, it should’ve been closer to $60. I booked the airport shuttle and a couple of random men joined the ride, blasting music from their phone speaker at 7 a.m. I was dropped off last. Overall, not the experience I expected for an upgraded room or a “four star” hotel. Wouldn’t recommend. I have had GREAT experiences with NH.
