Towards Chavenage Looking north from the top of a rise on the bridleway running along the eastern side of the square. The bridleway route continues in the line of trees rising the other side of the small valley, and leads past Chavenage House (in the top right of the picture and in the next square).

Looking north from A4135 This bridleway, part of the Macmillan Way, is Chavenage Lane and heads north from the A4135 towards Chavenage House. It is easy walking, lined with mature trees such as this horse chestnut.

Beverston Castle The castle was founded by Maurice de Gaunt in 1229. In the early 14th century, Thomas, Lord Berkeley remodelled the castle. It was slighted during the civil war.
