"The hotel is decent enough we've stayed a few times. It's a little older, but the Innkeeper is trying to keep up with the needs. Renovation is ongoing. Our room was recently redone. They have experienced a roof leak which surprised them. I let them know about it and they were understandably dismayed with the picture, but fortunately the leak presented over the bathtub! Minor things I needed addressed were handled, as always, by the ever helpful Chris. The breakfast lacks protein, with no meat or eggs, etc. This facility is used by working class people, many construction and transportation types, and very close to a major highway. I suspect the lack of a substantial breakfast may contribute to them staying at other venues more than the Ownership realizes."

"Have beautiful property! Prime location, beautiful view of the lake. Since the property is from the 1800s and meant to be kept in this old-fashioned beautiful way, I found that the amenities were not able to fit our needs i.e. the shower is too small. There’s no where to get ready in the bathroom. There’s no area to put your makeup and toiletries but then again I understand this is the charm of the Lakeside so was a beautiful stay."

"Clean room, great staff and breakfast is good. The AC gets the job done. As a skydiver, having the Skydive Deland drop zone at walking distance, makes the spot unique. Also there are a lot of restaurants and services around."

"Remember this is a 100 year old hotel many things have been upgraded but still it's 100 years old. I thought it was very interesting and fun the decor is vintage and transports you back in time my wife and I loved it.we usually stay at more modern places but this was interesting for us to try.the staff was incredible and very helpful."
