"New hotel in Piacenza has excellent staff and clean/well appointed rooms. I few things that I noticed that have room for improvement. To enter the hotel requires a flight of stairs - which is cumbersome with luggage. I'm certain that a smoother entry could have been included in the major renovation that they completed to turn a civil building into a hotel. Also, the breakfast while welcome is poorly staffed. One person to check people in, clean up, stock food, and generally keep things in order. When I arrived multiple items were absent from the buffet and the poor girl running it seemed as if she was on the verge of tears. There needs to be another person to clear tables and deliver food. Lastly, and I guess I am an outlier here - but I find it dangerous to have the name of the hotel, the room number, and the code on a slip of paper. If the paper is misplace, or even just viewed by another person, they have full access to your room. I took a photo and destroyed the paper but it feels like a very peculiar way to keep guests safe.
I would still recommend the property. It's easy to find, has free parking and the staff was lovely. "
"Wha a gem and a wonderful surprise. This hotel is part of a castle that is part of a small medieval town. Loved it and would go back. Though small in terms of rooms, the property has a simple but wonderful bistro on site."
"One of The rooms had a lot of mold spots in the shower ceiling and some other in the room hallway. The other room was missing part of the ceiling. The room card worked only the first time entry, for the other time we entered the room, the front desk gentleman had to walk to the room and open it with a key because he tried two times to configure the card again and did not work. The location was convenient from the highway, the breakfast was good, the bed and pillows were good, but unfortunately the experience was terrible because the mold was a health concern and it was a big area, not some spots. Also if you are remodeling the hotel you should provide the guest a complete room and work on others, we should not stayed in a room without ceiling, without shower doors. "
"Beautiful, well provisioned room. Courteous, professional staff. Very good ammenities. Excellant restaurant. Relais La Colombara was an absolute home run. We loved everything about it. We will definitely be returning the next time we travel to the area. "
