I have stayed at The Inn at the Tides many times over many years. It's always been a favorite; but, this time it was amazing! Our room (and possibly all rooms - I'm not sure) - had been completely remodeled and was beautiful and very comfortable. The grounds on the property look as if they have been professionally landscaped. Then - the extras--like the complimentary bottle of wine in the room, local newspaper in the morning. and the complimentary continental breakfast across the street at the Tides restaurant. However, the highlight for us was dinner at the restaurant that just reopened two months ago. We had originally planned to eat elsewhere for dinner; but, when we saw the menu at the new restaurant we decided to try it. We were so happy we did! The food, service, ambiance, wine list were outstanding, and we thought the prices were very reasonable. It was also great to be able to have dinner and both have wine and then just walk back to our room (no need for a Designated Driver!) I was told the restaurant was only open 3-4 days a week, (I believe it's Thursday-Sunday) but it is a great place to eat if you stay here. I'll be going again soon--my grandchildren mentioned it again and they love the indoor-outdoor pool!

My wife and I have been going to Inn at the Tides for many years. However, it’s not what it used to be. Management has let it wear down. They switched from wood/presto logs to gas fireplaces. The problem with that is they connected it to the thermostat. So, when the room is 70*, you can’t have a fire. If we go again, we’ll stay in a queen suite to save money.

The view is gorgeous. The room was very nice and clean and services were great. However, the beds were hard and terribly uncomfortable. After 2 nights of little sleep, we both left with backaches. We were very disappointed given the high price of the room.

So the Inn and receptionists, waitstaff fine dining restaurant were great. Food was phenomenal too. But the majority of the staff at the restaurant across the street were cold, unfriendly and a bunch of prudes. I politely asked one of the waiters if i could sit at the bar and he said “Well can you? Like physically. Go see the hostess she needs to do a headcount.” I go see the hostess and she was like hmm 1 person not sure let me see. Made a face and spoke to her colleague. This was when they had like 5 people in the restaurant. Shameful customer service. I’m complaining here about that place because it’s the same company.
