"Livefortuna is a beautiful family- and tourist-friendly hotel with helpful and friendly staff, just off the 2nd ring road in central Beijing, near the Temple of The Sun park. The English isn't quite as good as advertised, but they are more then happy to whip out a translation app. The bar is nice, the cocktail options are many but soft drinks are almost as expensive as beer. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the dinner we had at the hotel restaurant was delicious. There is a second restaurant (a Japanese style bistro) adjoining and there are also restaurants and a shopping mall nearby on Yabao road and further afield, plenty more international restaurants on Shenlu street. The rooftop infinity pool is the perfect way to end the day, although closes with the fitness suite at 10pm. The views from the pool are spectacular and you can see quite a few of the buildings with light shows on them after dark.
The room we booked was a family room, which housed four of us and came with plenty of storage. The room also came with its own WiFi hotspot, mini kitchen and washing machine, which came in handy, although there was also a laundry on our floor as well.
The nearest metro station (Jianguomen) is a 15 minute walk mostly along a shaded, pedestrian walkway which is is excellent way to wake up in the morning and taxis and DiDis (China's ride-hailing system) can drop off right in front.
The calligraphy decorating the wall is well worth stopping to look at. The real gem is"
