Friendly service

Great central location a few steps to the river. Made really welcome on arrival helping secure our muddy bikes. Friendly staff, good breakfast and well looked after.

Nice clean room and good food , staff were friendly . Unfortunately no hot water on the Sunday morning for the shower or heating in the room and there was heavy snow outside . Lady in reception was very helpful and checked the shower and boiler but with no luck . Have since emailed the manager 4 days ago with no response or acknowledgement of my email Very disappointed

Location great but tatty rooms. Overpriced

The town itself is beautiful so worth the visit; the room was pretty basic for £160 per night inc breakfast - just basic decor and nothing like the ones in the pics (far more drab than those - ditto the bathroom) and it was supposed to be a superior double! Also the cold tap on bath just trickled and the tap itself was very loose. The breakfast was not great - first day eggs Benedict was pretty inedible - ( eggs hard, ham tasteless and gristly, hollandaise cold and tasting like from a jar) ); second day sausages were undercooked and beans lukewarm. Service - friendly but pretty slapdash.

Sjarmerende hotell i nydelig småby

Et sjarmerende gammelt hotell der knapt en vegg var rett eller et gulv flatt. Vennlig og morsomt personale fra vi kom til vi reiste, og helt topp frokost. Beliggende i en perle av en engelsk småby. Høydepunktene like rundt hotellet og ved byens kanaler og sluse. Ta tid til å se narrowboatene når de går opp ned slusene.

Great location

Great stay in Bradford upon avon

Great location. Free parking and friendly staff. Bags of charactor in the room but it does have steep stairs and no lift (no problem for us but bear it in mind if it effecrs you). Qiet and comfortable stay. Only negative was very poor water pressure in the shower.

October short break

Comfortable stay, several choices for cooked breakfast , central & within easy walking distance of cafes, restaurants, lovely walk along the canal, didnt affect our stay as we intended to eat dinner elsewhere but hotel is currently completely closed on Sunday other than breakfast, including bar & reception

Good position

Well positioned Hotel for town and walks, Our room was spacious and appeared to have been recently re-carpeted etc. Thai restaurant good, as well as breakfast although charged extra for glass of milk

Just OK

Just OK - it was the day when it was boiling hot and room I was given was small and right at the top of the building, opening the small window made very little difference. The bed and carpets were OK, but everything else was just old and tired - the stairs could have done with a hoover.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff but a bit tired

We had an issue when we checked in that Hotels.com had not paid the hotel. They weren't very happy to let us check in but did so in the end. We phoned Hotels.com about 3 hrs after and suddenly the hotel was paid. The hotel is a 14th century hotel so has a lot of charm. However the decor in our bedroom was very tired. The bathroom was big but the shower had very little pressure. It took a long time to wash out the shampoo and conditioner from my hair! We were provided with water, biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. They left a table of extra condiments in the hallway outside our room which was great as we didn't have to disturb anyone. The breakfast was lovely. They had lots of different cereals, yogurts and jams/marmite for the toast. Our full English breakfast was tasty. We ate in the Thai restaurant on the 1st evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service in the restaurant was excellent. All in all we enjoyed our stay but the hotel could do with a lick of paint. Bradford on Avon is a lovely, pretty town for a weekend away. All independent shops and restaurants. We didn't book anywhere the 2nd night and struggled to find anywhere to eat. We did manage to get a table at Il Ponte Italian restaurant which was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

In the centre of town with parking facilities. Close to the train station, 12 minutes to Bath. Nice restaurants in the area. Very old building but needed some TLC. Mixed review of the room. Large bedroom with plenty of space. Looked a bit grubby, probably due to it needing painting and a new carpet. Bed linen and towels spotless. Tea making facilities. Breakfast was ok, didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner. Not a 4* hotel.

Nearly perfect stay

Top location for exploring Bradford-on-Avon. Staff doing a great job of keeping the place running during these difficult times, customer service really stood out. Superior double room had a comfy four poster bed, large tv with on demand services, and good size bathroom. Kettle provided and well stocked with bottled water, teas, coffee etc. Decent breakfast and enjoyed our Thai dinner too. Main area for improvement was the shower, which we could only get to run lukewarm and with minimal pressure, instructions on the wall didn’t seem to improve the situation.
