"Well located and the restaurant was really nice and breakfast lovely. Our king suite was located in the loft and was uncomfortably warm. We mentioed to the staff and they brought up an extra air conditioner. This didn’t help much and was far too noisy to sleep with it, so we didn’t sleep well. It definitely needs it’s own dedicated aircon system. The pool changing area was very tired and in need of some attention."

"The hotel was in a perfect location right across from the wall and with an easy walk into the heart of the old town. The staff were incredibly personable and helpful and were sincere in asking about us. We ate all dinners at The Rise. The food was fabulous."

"Watch out! They overbook you. I was forced at 9:40 pm to go to another hotel that they arranged in front of me. OK so get to stay in harrogate again for free with them and the got me another hotel, but I was planning to use the gym etc prior to my work the next day. Staff were nice and apologetic and got me sorted in an inferior hotel but this policy is unbelievable."

"A nice individual hotel with excellent staff, friendly and informative. Characterful and comfortable room with an excellent shower!! Very conveniently located an easy 30 minute walk into York via the riverbank (past ice-cream boat). 7Kw EV charging at competitive prices and £15 charge for the car park. Nick on reception was very welcoming and the addition of a shared balcony to the room was an added bonus. Definitely a goon choice if you want somewhere with charm and a friendly atmosphere"
