"I did not find the Atheneum to be very well maintained nor clean. Our room was pretty ick to be honest; hairs on the bathroom walls, dust and gunk on all the tile ledges etc. The room decor is quite baffling…. Tons of random ledges, glass bricks, massive pillars. The couch was stained and the room smelled like stale cigarettes. But the staff were very friendly and helpful!"

"This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Detroit. I always enjoy my stay because the staff is friendly, professional, and very helpful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. My only minor complaint is that housekeeping could be a bit more thorough with wiping down surfaces at times. Overall, it’s a great hotel, and I would definitely stay here again."

"Excellent hotel, clean, comfortable. The only complaint I have is that they should have a coffee maker in the room. They do prepare coffee pots and cups free in the lobby for guests (breakfast is not included), but it would be so much better to just be able to have a fresh cup in the room relaxing as you wake up in the morning without having to go down and back up."

"Great location! Clean, well-equipped, open and spacious apartment. We got a premium one. It was a corner apartment, so we enjoyed a lot of natural light. Cookies in the room were an unexpected and tasty treat! It was a bit noisy at night, but the white noise machine took care of that nicely. Smart touch. We plan to return some day. :)"
