Good stopover hotel
Friendly welcome, comfortable bed, excellent food. Ideal for a stopover before flying out from Bristol airport .
Nice if the staircarpet could be renewed. It lets the rest down.

Great location to the airport
Great location to the airport for early morning flight. Rooms were ok, bed was comfortable but pillows were too flat.
Bathroom lovely with big shower but the rooms could do with a touch up, walls need a lick of paint. The one staff member we met was very polite and friendly. Overall it was great for what we needed it for.
Was met by a very polite young man who carried our overnight bags to our room which was unexpected but good to have. Room very spacious but too hot, although they did have a fan. Compact bathroom with expensive fittings but not complete. Tap is loose and the one light was flickering on and off. I think this is still a work in progress but it won't take long to get there. Woukd stay again
Hotel was great.Another brilliant stay, just wished we had coat hangars

Food and service were appalling. Very concerning especially with the Coronavirus. I will not be returning and would encourage others thinking of booking to look elsewhere. This is a polite review there was more I could go into detail about. Yuck......

nice property rooms all neat clean and tidy, we had booked for 3 people to stay in same room - manager advised there would be extra charge, this was resolved when confirmed booking with details of extra bed being paid for on booking
The bar was not open in the evening or the morning. No wifi supplied. Additional costs on arrival. A complete joke. I have never provided a bad review in the past.
The Darlington Arms is just 5 mins from Bristol Airport. The room we had (the loft) was superb and very spacious. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was very good with excellent service. The pub is very cosy with a log fire.
The downside to the pubs location is the traffic noise from the adjacent road.
Also, we left at 4.30am for our flight and the walk to get to our car was very dark with no lights to show the way once you left the pub grounds.
Excellent pub with quality accommodation but ear plugs are needed.
We enjoyed a pleasant stay at the Darlington Arms. The Staff were efficient and helpful and the food in the restaurant was good. The only small problem was climbing a steep flight of stairs upon arrival to our room but the reception staff insisted on carrying our luggage which was greatly appreciated. The following morning the main bar entrance was locked to the car park which necessitated leaving by the back entrance down a steep flight of steps with no hand rail. Despite this we would stay again at the Darlington Arms when we return again to Bristol.
Really pleasant and helpful staff ( Penny ). Stunning room and very good food. Road noise not too much of an issue and within minutes of Bristol Airport so great for pre flight accomodation
I arrived at 23:00 because my plane was delayed. I was lucky to find the receptionist there although on a Friday night the pub was already closed and I could not have a drink. I then found out that the bathroom was two corridors away from the room (I thought i was booking en-suite -my mistake as I looked at the pictures on website and did not read the room details). The heating was off and the room was freezing cold - I had to sleep with my coat as there were no extra blankets either. Then the noise from the road - the website states that it is noise free - well it is NOT! Struggled to fall asleep and woke up all hours because of the noise. Then at 5o'clock, other guests were getting up, probably to catch an early flight and I could hear their movements through the thin walls. Tried to get back to sleep, but the road noise made it impossible.
Convenient location on the A38. Some road noise but with the windows closed it didn’t disturb us (we were in a room at the side of the property). We used it as a base to visit Bristol, Cheddar and Wells. Would be ideal for Bristol Airport too which is only a few minutes drive away.

what a let down
what can i said about are stay,number1 we arrive very dark outside,number2,there were not service food on a sunday, number 3 order breakfast on online with book was told they not doing breafast got my my money back, number 4 one coffer and 10 tebag on tray
went we arrive we were told they are new owerner that never run a pub come bed and bed, they only running a gargar before, they could have text me a week ago to let me know that they were not do food, insteard got amiss called on the date i was on my way and never sew it,all can said tom the staff was very helfully full mark to him
The water was not very hot for the shower, despite turning it to the hottest setting. The fixed shower head was too high for me and cannot be adjusted. I had to use the removable one in the end as otherwise I was getting cold. The bathroom also smelt a bit upon arrival. The room was presented well and the breakfast was very nice. Good selection of drinks in the room but the plug socket wasn't very accessible to plug in the kettle to make them.
Lovely food, friendly atmosphere, room was amazing, staff, particularly babs and Jodie were fab! would highly recommend & would most certainly come back!
The bath in the room is amazing! Wish we could have stayed longer. We were only there very briefly as had to catch an early flight, bed was very comfortable and room is lovely.
We stayed two nights to enable us to visit Bristol and Weston Super Mare. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was full English and was lovely and the restaurant menu for dinner was impressive. The quality of the meals was great and the service was outstanding. Be aware you will need to book in advance as the restaurant is extremely popular. Overall a lovely weekend despite the weather In a comfortable modern but homely environment.
Hotel was very good in all areas, the only thing that did tarnish the stay slightly was being charged £20 for a single bed when I arrived, even though I gave them the information at time of booking on line.
