The castle was beyond any expectations we had! The food was beyond wonderful! We had a six course meal in the dining room. We were blown away by the cleanliness, the attentiveness of the staff, the property itself! Everything was just wonderful! We are actually hoping to go again soon!
Our recent stay at this property was terrific. The staff were very accommodating and the hotel itself is beautiful. My 9-year old daughter, my mother and myself enjoyed every minute of our stay. We cannot wait to go back.
A CASTLE! How amazing is that! And a GREAT price! The staff was lovely! I can not boast about them enough! Super kind! Super helpful! Great attitudes! Like they love their jobs! It shows! I WILL be returning and spending a few days here, on a mission to just stay at the Castle and relax. No sight seeing, nothing but this Castle! In love with it!
Absolutely stunning historic castle, feels like you are in another time but with luxurious modern amenities. Also the breakfast is fantastic. So glad we decided to stay here, a once in a lifetime experience.
The property is amazing, nice gardens.
The staff are not warm as we expected. The dinner menu is not much of varieties and too expensive and the wine is also too expensive
Room is nice and the bed is comfortable
I do not think we will return
This place was amazing, we stayed for Valentines and it was just an incredible experience.
The staff were brilliant very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely go back.
Our stay at Thornbury Castle was amazing! While we were only there for one night, it was a spectacular experience. We felt like royalty. The three course dinner was delicious and well prepped. We stayed in the Mary Queen of Scots room which had a wonderful view of the fountain. The room was spacious and elegant with a host of amenities. All the staff was so kind and helpful. Perfect stop on our honeymoon trip. Definitely plan to return in the future.
Stunning historic building. properly trained, helpful, friendly staff. Bathrooms beautifully modernized while keeping the bedrooms and buildings historic authenticity. Your stay and the food will making you feel like a king and queen. I fully recommend the experience.
This was truly special. I took my 10 year old daughter hoping it would be worth the bus ride from London, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. We rented Tudor costumes and walked all around taking lots of photos. My daughter was in heaven. The Anna of Cleves room was luxury accommodations and absolutely worth it. The bed was so comfortable! The three course dinner was delicious, and my daughter was allowed to order off the kids menu which she found to be exactly what she wanted. Breakfast was great also! The staff couldn't have been nicer and really seem to enjoy their jobs. I think it is perfect for a one night magical stay. It was a splurge and it felt like we got more than we paid for! We certainly made the most of it and will never forget it.
