"Stayed in the cottages for a wedding weekend. Everything was lovely and the location is just fabulous. The food was lovely and the staff all worked really hard and were there morning until night.
The cosy lounges were a bit too warm when the fires were roaring but there are other rooms to sit in.
Will definitely be back 👍"

"Room clean and comfortable, no hot chocolate though! Quality of evening meal average, food lukewarm, very thick crust on steak and ale pie, beef and mushroom stroganoff with rice tasteless. Very small portion of sticky toffee pudding which was also lukewarm.Waste of £50. Wish we had ventured out into town as this was a birthday meal....disappointing. Even though we locked the room door when we went out Friday we noticed it was UNLOCKED when we returned (maybe after cleaning). Glad we didn't leave any valuables in the room."
"Great pub , nice food , brilliant ambiance. Our room was small but very comfortable and functional also finished to a high standard - tea /coffee making facilities were great ! "
"The hotel is undergoing renovation work but it didn’t spoil our stay - the staff were so helpful and kind as we were staying to attend a family funeral. We had a lovely room overlooking the canal at a good price which was fortunate for our family as we needed 4 rooms. The hotel is about a Mile out of skipton overlooking the canal and countryside.
Breakfast is temporarily being served upstairs while the restaurant is refurbished- it was buffet style and nice and hot and good value . Overall really pleased with our stay 👍😊"
"Host and staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and quiet, its a shame that it is only the bathroom that has view of the river. The old pub where you can get drinks, lovely food and a nice atmosphere is in need of some work, but Im guessing that is something they are looking at. Lots of free parking and a great location to experience what the area has on offer. "
"A lovely old world pub, the highest in Britain.
Lovely ambience, cosy bar areas and nice rooms. Just a few scruffy areas like the carpet going up to the accommodation and the ceiling and floor of the bathroom sliding door area. However it is understandable with being a busy pub with people with work boots and walking boots constantly in and out.
The food was good, with lots of choice and well cooked.
We had a slight blip checking in but it was sorted out quickly and efficiently.
Overall a lovely stay in an iconic pub with a great atmosphere."
"Great location and really friendly & helpful staff.
Although there were none visible during our stay, dogs are welcome for a small charge.
Parking is understandably at a premium due to its village location. Check out of 10am but people naturally leave there cars whilst going for a walk. This means the car park was still full at the 3pm check in time. There is spare parking available at another property but it’s always best to have your car where you’re staying.
Superb walks from the doorstep up to Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and round to the beautiful Janet’s Foss.
We had a meal in the Lister Arms whilst we stayed there. Although it was nice we felt it didn’t live up to the AA rosette standard they’ve been awarded.
The breakfast however was amazing. Fresh( & we presume) local produce that was hot and plentiful.
Cereals and toast as well as decent tea made it a hit "
