We have stayed at this hotel before under previous ownership and it was very good then and now it is exceptional. On arrival we were very well received and given an upgrade to a Better Room. This was extremely comfortable and convenient. The hotel is very well furnished and the grounds magnificent. Our evening meal was good fine dining with a good choice and not too expensive. Full English breakfast was very good and there were other very tempting choices. The hosts were very accommodating and very interesting. No doubt we will go again when next in that area.

Ridiculously impressed!

Simply amazing! The best hotel I have stayed in, in New Zealand! I felt like I was in France :) the grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are stunning, the pool/spa area is amazing and the service was world class. Will 100% return and I told everyone about the Henley the next day!

Don't Miss this Wonderful Hotel

Probably one of the nicest stays I have ever had. I stopped for one night and wish I had planned for more time at the hotel. The staff was outstanding and responsive, the rooms new and fresh. And the restaurant was delicious. The Hotel is quite small, so you feel like you are being hosted in a special family home. It is located outside of the city center so you do want a car to explore, but the quiet was perfect.

Best in Every Regard! Did not want to leave!

I've traveled a lot and stayed in many hotels, and I can truly say the Henley Hotel ranks right up there with the best of the best. I cannot say one negative thing about this hotel. It exceeded every expectation - from hotel condition, customer service, staff friendliness, cleanliness, and dining. Though we'd provided an ETA of 7PM, the staff was more than willing to work with us on getting us checked in at 2PM instead. Our room was ready for us - cozy and clean with a beautiful view of the garden. And speaking of the garden and hotel grounds...beyond phenomenal. I felt like I was staying in a country estate fit for royalty. If you want a relaxing and peaceful environment, this is your place. It was so quiet and peaceful, we felt as though we were the only guests on the property. Staff was helpful in recommending excursions and attending to all of our needs - no request was denied. What really warmed my heart was the last day of our stay. Specifically, due to packing up, we missed the breakfast period (7:30-10:30) and resigned ourselves to catching breakfast elsewhere. But when we arrived downstairs to check out, they'd saved us food in case we were hungry before departing! I have never had this level of service! We did NOT want to leave; and we WILL be returning.

Exceptional service from everyone in the hotel. From the manager, to the chief and to the restaurant staff, they all made us feel welcome and made sure to our stay was very smooth and relaxing.
