"The staff was friendly, but we did not have a five star (Google) or 9.6 (Expedia) experience.
Check in began at 1230 according to the website but we were not set to arrive till 330. I received a message that there would not be anyone to check us in from 230 to 430 - I was told it was “rest time” for their staff. I messaged back the time we were planning on arriving (we had driven five hours that day) and was told no one would be there but we could wait on them. We adjusted our schedule and it was fine.
We get checked into our room and my wife comes out of the bathroom and said, “someone has been smoking in there”. Not sure if they had a policy or not but did not want to be blamed for smoking and so I told the front desk. They moved us to the room next door - that was nice. Then the 15” tv remote would not work. They brought us another one - that was nice.
I initially found the property through a Google search. It is listed as a “5 Star Property”. It is not! It is a nice hotel that we personally had a few small things happen that although they were quick to address, limit what we can

"This was a very nice boutique hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful with a dinner recommendation. The breakfast was basic but very good.
Although the pool looked open the water in it was not clean and/or clear. "
"When Expedia's VRBO cancelled our booking for Oct1 property in Madrid on Sept 30th, we found ourselves scrambling to find a hotel close to the airport in Madrid. Hotels were ridiculously expensive for that evening but also very limited. Found this unique gem about 1 hour 15 minutes from the airport. Reasonable rate, huge room with a very large bathroom. Extremely clean! Friendly helpful staff. Ate in the hotel's restaurant which was also very nice. Would definitely recommend "
"A very nice property, tucked in the center, tastefully renovated. Service is very kind and attentive, even though the « nobody’s there » check in procedures can be unusual for the American public. Very nice bedding, and super quiet. "
"Clean and comfortable for a quick trip heading to south of Spain from Madrid after a long flight from the states, Lillo is a small town without much of anything to do, some restaurants open after 19:00 but I would drive there instead of walking 10 to 15 mins, it’s very safe. The convent is beautiful, probably the nicest building in town, the only complaint I would give is that you can hear everything from all the rooms, and I mean we heard all of the conversations and I am not sure folks where even next door, besides that, would I stay there again, yes we would.
