"I've seen a lot of not so great reviews for this place, but my experience exceeded my expectations. I was upgraded to the largest room they had at no expense, the host was very easy to reach and the bed was very comfortable. The only criticism I would have is that the room/kitchen could have used a bit of extra TLC, but it was by no means "dirty". This is not going to be the fairmont, but for the price it was a very good stay. "

"It is a great location and is just steps away from all the tourist attractions. The building is old, and the bathroom is quite small. However, the staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate your needs and respond to your requests. You get what you pay for. It's a nice place to stay if you're looking for something decent at an affordable price. If you're looking for a fancy place to show off on Instagram, this is not for you."

"Great budget hostel with amazing food options close by — Filipino, Lebanese, Japanese, Indian, etc on that block alone. And Kensington is a 5-minute walk. The hostel is run by Japanese so you have to take your shoes off before walking in. It’s clean. They clean the room once a week every Wednesday. All residents respect the hostel’s rule to stay quiet, though sometimes it can get noisy because the place is in a busy area. The staircase is a bit small so be careful when walking up and down.
