"I have stayed here at least three other times and it's always been wonderful period it is far enough from the freeway, so it's nice and quiet and behind the building runs a beautiful riverfront area with a couple picnic tables, a little path, and some roses and a great view... If you walk out to the main street and walk across a bridge, there is also a McMinamen's restaurant and bar past a tiny town area ( possibly the older town) They have a pool in the front that I saw some people in.Yesterday, because it was 95°, and it looked really clean period i've always been able to find a parking spot easily, and there 's even lower level parking right in front of the rooms that are facing the river. No elevator but it's not too bad. If you have to use the steps a couple times. Their breakfast is good, a choice of different flavored bagels and oatmeals with coffee and cereals, as well as cream and sugar and all the fixings for your coffee. There might have been other bakery items, or food, but I don't remember, but definitely a nice little breakfast that starts at 4am! I will be back again and have always enjoyed this place period on top of it. Everyone that stays here are travelers who are quiet and just need some sleep. And there are not any odd people wandering around the way a lot of motels are period in fact, this almost reminds me of kind of a retro boutique motel, instead of a typical motel - it's cute. I've tried to add a few photos to hotels.com, but not workin"

"The property was clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable and the building and site are well preserved and charming. You can really feel the history. The breakfast was awesome. The food was fresh, healthy and well prepared."

"Above and Beyond — Twice in One Stay! I booked this hotel at the last minute and really appreciated the reasonable price. When we arrived late that evening, the office was closed but had a number posted to call. I hadn't realized until after paying for the room that the front desk had limited hours. I place that issue with the booking company, not the hotel, since the reservation was accepted after those hours. The owner answered my call right away, understood what had happened, and drove to the property to help us in less than 15 minutes. I was genuinely impressed by how accommodating and friendly he was. The hotel may not look particularly impressive at first glance, but don't let that fool you. Our room was very clean and well maintained, and my partner and I were able to get a comfortable night's rest. The property and surrounding area were also very quiet and peaceful. The service impressed me again the next morning. I accidentally left something at the front desk when we checked out and didn't even realize it was missing. The hotel called me later that morning to let me know and kept it safe until it could be picked up. From accommodating our unexpected late arrival to looking after something I left behind, these folks went above and beyond. That kind of personal service means a lot, and I would definitely stay here again."

"When we arrived, the host was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. There was free water and coffee provided. Two complimentary glasses of wine and beer were also included. Our room was charming and the bed was comfortable. We selected the room with an attached bath and was so worth the privacy. Breakfast in the morning was delicious - french toast, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. Would highly recommend staying here. Only wish we could have stayed an extra day or two."

"Cheri and Mike are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our stay. The private tour with the history of the house was a huge plus. Cheri and Mike are proud of the historical significance of the house. The renovations Cheri and Mike did, preserved the heritage. The location is wonderful, walking distance from "downtown" Roseburg. We want to come back. Our room was perfect! Clean and had an in room sink. I loved the sound machines in each room, it helped me sleep better. I wish we could have had another day their. The location is close to I5, but not too close. No freeway noise. Easy on and off. Sadly the property is for sale, I hope the new inn keepers will cherish the history and location."

"Owner Rick manages his SAFARI INN (Exit 119 off Interstate I-5) exceptionally well. I was a solo elderly female traveler on a budget looking for safe, clean, non-smoking, comfortable lodging for the two days I would be visiting the famous 53-year-old, 680-acre Wildlife Safari conservation & rare species park, located less than 2 quick miles from the Inn. Arrived late (nearly 10 PM because I'd driven straight from Nanaimo City, Victoria Island, British Columbia, Canada. I'd reserved my room previously. Rick, happy to see me, welcomed me, charged me only when I actually arrived. Ample parking directly in front of my room. The door is securely locked digitally. Comfortable, King-size bed, free WiFi, well-stocked w/ ground coffee coffee maker. Convenient light switches within easy reach, two bedside lamps, Round dining table w/ two comfortable upholstered armchairs. Desk with lamp & upholstered desk chair. Tall dresser holding TV with ample drawers. main room has tall wall size mirror for full view of yourself. Carpet is fresh-smelling. Lots of hot water. Bathroom w/ shower-full size tub. Separate dressing space w/ large mirror, daylight bright light, hair dryer, sink w/ roomy counter for toiletries. Lots of clean white cotton towels. Lots of hot water. Altho Inn is located on main street, street noise was minimal; sleep environment was quiet both nights. Highly recommend and would stay here again when I visit Winston, Oregon."
