"My big issues to rate a hotel are cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. The hotel and room was immaculate. Staff was polite, kind, efficient and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Location was so convenient to resturants, bars and shopping, plus easy access to Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods plus more. One thing I would note: we reserved a king mountain view and we had a beautiful view of Pikes Peak, but it also overlooks the parking lot. Despite being along side of the road, it was very quiet. Breakfast was good, waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereals, breads and yogurts. A plus was good coffee. We loved the indoor pool and hot tub as it rained. Both were clean and we enjoyed this amenity very much."

"Hits and misses: Hits: The outside looks great and the front desk staff was excellent. Very welcoming and explained things well. Only parking is Valet but was worth it as street parking is limited. As others have said the hotel is being renovated so there's some construction going on in the main areas (they state that up front when you make a reservation). Our room was good size and the bed comfortable. There was some wear and tear but it's an old hotel so don't expect new. There are some areas (bathroom) that needed general maintenance. Misses: The bar and restaurant staff could use some assistance or training. We tried the bar but ended up leaving and just going into town. We came back for dinner (we had reservations). The regular dining room is under construction so the current dining room is a back up. It's near the dishwashing area and you could hear people arguing back there. Not the atmosphere you want trying to enjoy a moderately pricey (for us anyway) anniversary dinner. The food though was fine. I'd go back to Cliff House if/when they work out some of the kinks."

"Only there for one evening. Room was nicely redone. You can tell it’s a historic motel, and that isn ’t a bad thing. I remember seeing this as a child in the early 80s. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was decent. The shampoo and soap can def use an upgrade, but the patio table outside the room made up for any lack of soap quality. Enjoying morning coffee with a view of the peak made it all a great deal. Owners seemed nice and attentive. Will keep this property in our hotel rotation for the area. Worth the price and will just bring our own soap and shampoo next time."

"What a beautiful place. The grounds, the castle, and our room was amazing. We just spent the one night but already are planning to come back and spend more time. And the breakfast was fantastic plus enjoying on the terrace. Our room, the Rose, was a little tight for the two of us but we managed and was a short stay. If your travel takes you to Colorado Springs, I highly recommend the Glen Eyrie Castle for accommodations."
