"Hotel was nice, clean. Areas of room needed replacing, such as the bathroom fan didn’t work and a vent was old and crusty but overall the room and facilities were very clean. The pool and hot tub were nice and the breakfast was decent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall very nice stay. Would definitely stay again"

"I travel to Iowa City monthly, and two of my usual hotels have recently closed, so I finally decided to try the Garden Inn. It has always been a little more expensive, but this was a celebration weekend, so we went for it. Overall, we had a good time. The parking garage was being renovated, and I still had to pay $15 to park in a farther garage across the street. Not a huge deal, but a helpful heads-up for other travelers. "I stayed at this hotel more than 15 years ago as a refuge from a winter storm. The building was filthy, cold and there were black widow spiders in the bathroom. This property has been sold and completely remodeled virtually ground up. Almost impeccably clean, it was nice and comfortable albeit the structure design is outdated. Beds and bedding was acceptable though a little spartan. Breakfast was hot and copious in volume and choice. Absolutely no complaints, but just know that the location is...
