"I stayed overnight at the Publick House for my next days visit to Old Sturbridge Village. What a wonderful stay and the restaurant at the inn is fantastic. Make sure to make a reservation for though —It’s worth the effort. I ordered the Jumbo Crab Cake adorned with a lovely house made cole slaw and paired it with a local draft beer. "The room was acceptably clean, details are always an issue everywhere. Very annoying was an odor that smelled like covered up dog pee. It might have just been the cleaning chemicals that I’m not used to."

"We checked in around 8pm after going to an event. The boiler had exploded at some point that night. There was no heat or hot water. This is a remote location, so at that point in the day we didn't have another option. I realize what happened was out of their control, but they didn't offer anything to help accommodate for this issue, even just a free breakfast would've been fine. "Even though we were booked for two nights, the room was not supplied with any additional towels or offered during check in. Kids were running up and down the hallway most of the evening as well as riding the elevator to each floor. Management did not intervene nor did the parents who were taking up the entire downstairs common area with their party. Plenty of booze and late nights loud convo as the children ran wild. "Overall, very good room for the price we paid. I would have preferred extra blankets and pillows in the room, but enough were provided and I didn’t ask for more. We were also welcomed by two (harmless) spiders, who we helped find happier lands down the hall. The free breakfast was okay. Good for free, so can’t complain. The property is well kept overall, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and polite. We enjoyed our stay. "

"The rooms looked totally barren. Bed was ok but not great. I ran the shower water for 10 minutes and it went from ice cold luke warm. They wanted a $100 cash deposit when I checked in. I’ve never seen that ever. It was refunded on check out. Location is next to a shut down sports bar"
